I’ve just had an extremely irritating experience with a so-called 'Microsoft representative' calling me from this number. I expressed my sympathies that he couldn’t find a proper job and accused him of being a fraudster. His response? He threatened to take me to court! Can you believe it? I recently received a rather alarming call from this number, purporting to be the Fraud Investigation Department of Barclays. They claimed there was some unusual activity on my son's account and insisted that he ring them back within half an hour; otherwise, the transaction would be processed. I promptly hung up and have yet to receive any follow-up communication since that unsettling exchange.

I couldn’t catch where the caller said he was calling from. He mentioned he was doing a quick survey about which brands or companies are the favourites in people’s homes. I asked him to take me off their list and not to contact me again, though I’m pretty sure they’ll call back anyway.

Just got a call from this number right when I was sorting out online banking, putting in details for a new payee and sending money via BACS. The automated voice claimed to be from ‘BT Technician’ saying my broadband would be cut off. I ended the call straight away and now trying to ring Lloyds bank to report it. Might be just bad timing but felt suspicious the call came while I was doing bank stuff. Will definitely let the bank’s fraud team know once I manage to speak to them.

Got a scam call today. It was this robotic woman telling me my internet was about to be cut off if I didn’t hit #1 on my phone. I just put the phone down straight away. I’m guessing if you press anything they try to charge you loads or it could be something dodgy.

Terrible English and pretending to be from BT - TOTALLY NOT. He sounded like he was just reading off a script and wouldn’t let anyone, even me, say a word. COMPLETE SCAM, PATHETIC LIARS, ABSOLUTE CROOKS - DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THIS NUMBER, THEY'RE 100% SCAMMERS. Why isn’t anyone cracking down on all these dodgy calls already ??????

Got a call from an Indian bloke saying he was from BT, trying to "repair" our internet. Total scam, it’s just a dodgy call centre aiming to get into your PC and con you out of cash with their lame tricks. Watch out folks.

Got a call from a fake UK number, but the caller sounded Indian and had an Asian accent. He said his name was Christopher and claimed to be from the Ministry Of Justice. He told me I was owed £3000 because of some illegal bank charges. I ended the call straight away, guessing they would try to get my bank info next. This is clearly a dodgy scam and really risky. I've blocked the number using BT call protect now. BT seriously needs to get on top of these kinds of calls.

Got a call at 3 in the morning asking for my wife. I said she wasn’t here, she was at our daughter’s place, and then they just hung up. The time made me worried it was some kind of family emergency, so I made a note of the number.

A bloke with an accent rang me up, asking for me by name. He claimed to be from the UK Call Blocking Authority and said they were about to activate call blocking on my phone which would let me... I cut him off and said my phone already had call barring turned on then just ended the call. Kinda odd that they’re promoting a service to block calls like the ones they’re making themselves!

I got a call on my landline from a guy with an Indian accent asking for my dad, who died about six years ago. I told him my dad isn’t around anymore. Then he asked me for my info but I said no. When I asked where he found my number and my dad’s name, he said it’s in his database. I told him to take my dad’s name and my number off, but he said he wouldn’t. When I asked to speak to his manager, he got angry and yelled at me, saying “do what you gonna do”.

I received a rather suspicious call from a woman who had an Asian accent claiming to be from BT. She introduced herself as Alex McDonald and mentioned there was an issue with my internet connection. Surprisingly, she said they needed to disconnect my broadband temporarily! She then quizzed me about the devices I had plugged in and urged me to open Google Play - I can’t help but think she wanted me to install some dodgy software! When I requested to speak to her supervisor, she abruptly ended the call. Very shady behaviour, if you ask me!

Got a ring at 11.25 this morning from this number, some bloke with an Indian accent saying my computer got messed with at about 1am and that he needed some info from me to track down the hacker. He claimed to be from British Telecom but I don’t even have an account with them, so it immediately felt like a con. Plus, since the call probably came from India, I was even more sceptical about the whole thing.

I got a call today from this number and some guy with an Asian accent said there was something wrong with my Windows. I told him everything was working perfectly, but he insisted the problem was with my computer. I said I thought you meant Windows, and mine’s all good, the only thing I see is snow. Then the bloke actually told me to go to hell! Funny how you actually manage to catch them nowadays!!

No clue who it was since the number was blocked. I got myself one of those BT call blocking phones years back because I was getting nonstop calls from telemarketers. Since then, hasn’t been a single unwanted call. Only ones that come through are from people saved in my contacts.

Got loads of calls from the number 01924 847145 sayin they was from BT. The bloke on the phone had a foreign accent and said there was an issue with my home phone. I just hung up right away. Then I rang British Telecom to report and block these annoying calls.

A few days back, I had a call from some life insurance scam folks, but my BT8500 phone just blocked them quietly without me even having to lift a finger. (No, you don’t have to be with BT for this to happen.) Later, I spotted the number in my call list and got curious about whose it was.
