This bloke called, said his name was Sean and claimed I'd taken out a loan, said I paid too much and was owed £3500. Asked me to jot down some numbers but when I told him I never had a loan, he just told me to f__k off. I ended the call straight away.

Spoke to an Indian/Asian bloke asking for the missus. Told him she wasn’t around, asked if he wanted to leave a message. He just dropped the call. Proper annoying more than anything.

They're being really dodgy, won’t admit I've already got all my PPI money, and are super secretive about who they even are.

Got loads of calls from this number and loads others too, so I ended up getting a BT8500 phone with a built-in call blocker. Honestly, it's a lifesaver - no more pesky calls! Best £40 I've spent in ages. Definitely grab one and put an end to these annoying calls for good :D

A woman called asking for my wife. I told her she wasn’t here, and she just hung up on me. Wish I could get down the line and explain to her how disrespectful that was.

Got a call from some Indian guy named David about PPI. I got a bit rude and told him to bugger off. Then he called me back cursing, told me to F off. Claimed he was from Consumer Plus, but turns out that company is closed down. Would really like to let his manager know how he’s calling back people who obviously know it’s a scam.

Every day, I receive phone calls from them, attempting to extract information from me regarding a loan they claim I took. However, as I have never borrowed any money, it is evident that they are being untruthful. Despite my repeated requests for them to refrain from contacting me, they have now started calling my husband. I express my frustration with them in a rude manner, but they persistently continue to call.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from the UK Gov regarding my life insurance. Didn’t let him say much before telling him to find a real job and quit with the lies and stealing. He hung up straight away. This is like the 5th time I’ve had a call like this lately. What’s happening?

Some Asian bloke named Peter rang up sayin he's from Lloyds Bank’s Region? I just played it cool and he soon took off.

I receive daily phone calls from this particular number, typically around 4pm. I choose not to answer these calls as a general practice, which means I don't answer any incoming calls anymore. After using the dialling service 1471 to check the missed numbers, I have to call back any legitimate callers myself.

Just got a call today from someone with an Indian accent saying they were Steven from some Financial Office, talkin’ about my loan. I told him no way anyone with that kinda accent and skin colour is called Steven, and then told him to piss off since I’ve never had any loan ever.

Got a call about some PPI refund for a loan ive never taken out. I asked them where they're located and the head office address. They said Manchester. So i asked which street in Manchester, and they just said "Manchester" again. I told them surely they know the street name their office is on, and they went quiet before hanging up on me, quite funny really!

They keep ringing my 87 year old mum nonstop saying she’s owed some PPI refund. I was with her when they called, so she handed the phone to me. The bloke said she took out a loan back in 2001, which she never did. When I started asking questions, he just hung up.

This is the 7th time this number’s rang me this week. They claimed I was owed PPI cash from a loan back in 2005 (which I defo didn’t have). They then went on to ask which bank the loan was with and named three banks trying to trick me. Today I told them straight up it was the 7th call and I wasn’t giving them any details. The caller asked my age, and I refused to say. She said they needed that info just to take me off their database! No way was I telling them anything.

THIS NUMBER HAS RANG ME MULTIPLE TIMES, ALWAYS SOUNDS LIKE THE EXACT SAME VOICE, FOREIGN ACCENT AND REALLY IRRITATING. I WOULDN’T TRUST THIS NUMBER IN THE SLIGHTEST.

I was busy with some gardening when these muppets rang up again. PPI stuff, so irritating, I just told him to sort himself out and find a real job.

Phoned me right before I was about to leave - not that they’d know that, but it was annoying when they started asking about my address (which I didn’t give or confirm). The caller wasn’t very clear either, and I had to switch off the radio to understand properly. When I asked what exactly he meant about some wrongly-paid PPI, he just hung up without even saying goodbye.

Beware of scammers. Instead of engaging in insults, it can be appropriate to simply let them keep talking while maintaining your own caution. Alternatively, a response that might be effective is impersonating authority by informing them that you are from the local police station. 😂

I do not recall taking out such a loan and informed the callers that I had already received a refund for any PPI. They promptly ended the call. However, half an hour later, they contacted my wife regarding the same issue.

She mentioned some believable info about the loan company and someone who checks stuff. When the call dropped halfway, she phoned me back straight away! She was a foreign lady who spoke English well but kept talking over me, trying to hurry me along so she could hand me over to someone else.

This bloke from India kept ringing my mum about some PPI thing. He called her 3 times in just 10 minutes after we told him to stop. I even yelled at him over the phone but he still kept coming back. These scammers really ought to be cracked down on.

The bloke asked for 'Mrs Matthews', I said she’s not in and if he wanted to leave a message. Then this creep goes and says "I want to smell your ####". Seriously, what’s wrong with people calling like that? What if a kid or teenager answered the phone?! Properly disgusted by this!

Don't really know. The answering machine didn't pick up anything from this number, it was just dead quiet on the line until the machine ended the call. Bit odd really.

During the call, this individual attempted to persuade me that I had an outstanding claim regarding a mis-sold PPI. However, upon my request for further information, he declined to provide any and ultimately terminated the call upon my refusal to provide him with any personal details.

Got a call from an Asian lady asking about the age of our boiler and trying to sell us a new one. They keep ringing back and are pretty pushy. Sounds like it’s a busy call centre with all the background noise.

I have been receiving three phone calls today, where people ask for me by name. However, each time I inform them that they have the wrong number and then I hang up. It is important to note that I am registered with the Telephone Preference Group, which means that I do not want to receive any unwanted calls. Additionally, I have not shared my name and phone number on any forms or websites in the past three years or more.

He called me a few times today pushing some sort of free boiler deal. I clearly said I wasn’t interested, but he kept ringing. I even warned him we’d file a complaint, yet he just kept going without stopping. Judging by what others are saying, looks like he switched from the PPI spiel to boilers now. Bit odd if you ask me!

I received a call from an international caller who claimed to know about my personal loan from 2005 and mentioned that I was eligible for a refund of PPI. They assured me that they would send me a form through the mail to assist me in claiming the refund. It all seemed quite odd to me since I have already received my refund for this particular loan. How did the caller acquire my information?

some bloke called me sayin he was ryan from refund consumer plus, told me i had a loan which i definitely didnt. i kept him hanging, waiting for him to ask for my bank details. he gave me a loan reference number, lol, and said someone else would call with more info. then john mckay called from 01914067097, and after that i spoke to a nicole. by then i was proper fed up with the whole thing. they said they’d send me paperwork for a loan i never took out. when i asked how the money would be paid, they just said by cheque. suspicious much!

They said i’d got a loan sometime in the last decade (which ive never done) and when i asked who it was with, this bloke calling himself “mr o’brien” with a weird asian accent just called me a proper idiot and told me to jog on.

I received a phone call from this number, which turned out to be a standard unsolicited call. The caller asked for my name, and when I inquired about the purpose of the call, he became quite agitated and upset. He scolded me for asking why and abruptly ended the call. Nevertheless, I achieved the desired outcome of not having to waste further time with the call.

I received a call from them yesterday. I informed the caller that I was not interested and ended the conversation. However, they continued to ring persistently, so I decided to leave the phone off the hook. When I eventually put the phone back on, it started ringing again, and I answered once more to reiterate that I was not interested. Despite my efforts, the calls persisted. Each time, I would answer and then hang up, hoping they would give up. Unfortunately, they didn't stop, so I warned them that I would involve the police if it continued. Still, the calls kept coming. At that point, I told the person on the other end that I was speaking to the police on my mobile phone. It was then that they repeatedly and aggressively used offensive language towards me before I decided to end the call. Finally, they got the message and stopped calling. This kind of harassment is deeply unsettling and can have serious consequences for one's mental well-being.

I received a call from someone regarding some sort of funding, but to be honest, their accent was a bit tricky to understand. In the end, we opted to hang up as we were struggling to follow what they were saying.

Is there any way to put an end to these bothersome and distressing calls that seem to come out of nowhere? It's high time for a solution to these unwelcome interruptions!

These folks were rambling incessantly about something related to life insurance. We ended the call rather abruptly. Total numpties!

The only effective solution I've found is to use a call-blocking app.
