Got a call from an Asian guy looking for a Mr Barrett. Honestly, I reckon any directory showing that number with his name is ancient - I took over this number about 14 years ago and it’s definitely unlisted now, not Mr Barrett at all. Pretty clear it’s a scam. Funny thing is, I also had a call from an Asian woman on 01235355110 asking for the same bloke. Definitely dodgy.

I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be from HMRC. She surprisingly asked for my daughter specifically (I answered pretending to be her). The really creepy bit was that she already knew our phone and home address. Even when I told her I was on the Telephone Preference Service and that what she was doing was illegal, she didn’t back down. She carried on insisting she was with HMRC and that I was owed a tax rebate linked to a PPI claim. Proper unsettling!

Just got a call at about 1.53pm from a woman with an Asian accent claiming she was from HMRC about some Tax Refund. My missus picked up and let her run through her usual spiel. When the woman asked for bank details to send the refund, my missus said she wanted a cheque instead. This morning (19/01/22) around 8.54 am, I got a call from a woman with a foreign accent who asked for me by my name. When I replied that it depended on who was calling, she refused to say and then asked why I was being so rude.
