I received a rather dubious call on my home phone today from someone purporting to be a BT engineer. They informed me that my broadband service had been somehow compromised. It all seemed a bit fishy to me, and I firmly believe this chap can't be trusted. Definitely a scam!

I got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who handed me over to a bloke. They claimed to be from BT and said my router was being accessed by some external IP, so they needed to block it. I told them I was tied up and to ring me back another time. But they phoned again after about 10 minutes. I picked up but didn't actually respond; after a bit, they just ended the call. Now I’m clear on what to do if it happens again, cheers to everyone for the tips!

Got a call just after 8 this morning from someone with an Indian accent, talking about our internet. Ended up putting the phone down straight away!

This number keeps ringing me non stop. I've got it blocked on my BT phone screening thing, but still, they don't give up trying. Really annoying!

Today, my home phone got a call three times from this landline, 01924507462, claiming to be from BT Openreach about someone else using my internet. They asked me to get on my laptop, but my wife just said, “nah, that’s gotta be a scam, hang up.” And that’s exactly what I done. Don’t argue with my missus! Had a quick look online afterwards, and sure enough, she was spot on once more!

A woman calling herself "Jasmine" claimed she was from BT, telling me that my computer was being hacked. I let her know I was a police officer, and she promptly ended the call. Such rubbish scammers!

We use a call blocker which asks them to give details, but they just hang up on us every single time. It’s so frustrating and honestly quite worrying, especially for older people who might not be as careful. Can’t something be done to put an end to these scammers?

Got a bloke calling me three times today, sounded Indian and said he was from BT about my internet problems. Couldn't really get what he was saying, so he handed me over to some supervisor. I just told them to stop messing about and hung up.

This number has buzzed me 5 times just today, all within a few hours. Most of the time when I answered, there was nothing but silence. Then on the final ring, after a bit of a pause like they were trying to patch me through, some bloke with an Indian accent claimed he was ‘Nick Jones from BT’s Tech Support’. I wasn’t having any of it and told him to get lost before slamming down the phone. What a pain in the neck these calls are!

Just like others mentioned, I got a call supposedly from BT but the call quality was awful, almost impossible to understand. It’s hard to believe a company like BT wouldn’t have proper phone systems. Honestly, these people are scammers trying to rip you off, so never share your personal details. From what I gathered, they operate out of India. Stay alert and don’t fall for it!

We use one of those call blocking gadgets that asks callers for info first. But every time they just hang up straight away - it's so annoying and could be really risky, especially for older folks. Seriously, can't anything be done to get rid of these scammers?

Got a call the other day from a guy who sounded like he had a strong Indian accent, he mentioned something about BT but I couldn’t really catch what he was saying. I told him I wasn’t interested, hung up, and made sure to block the number so they don't bother me again.

Got a call, I said hello and they just dropped the phone. Then about an hour later they rang again claiming to be from BT, saying someone was messing with my internet. They asked how many devices connected to my router and said they could verify they were with BT. I told them to stop talking nonsense and ended the call.

Got a call from 01924507462, rang me three times in a row. The first two times, just as I picked up, the line went dead. When I finally answered the third call, some bloke with a thick Indian accent told me he was from BT and that my router had been hacked. I’d already sussed it was a con, but I decided to humour him a bit. I called him out as a fraud and accused him of trying to rip me off, but I kept him chatting for ages. Eventually, he got livid and started dropping swear words all over the place!
