I got a call from a bloke with a strong Pakistani accent who said he was calling from Virgin Media. He told me he could sort out my internet issues and wanted me to log onto my computer so he could remotely access it and have a look. He said my internet speed was fluctuating and he could fix it. I told him straight away I wasn’t falling for it and was about to end the call, but he kept insisting it was legit and even tried to convince me by offering a code I could use to verify him if I let him connect to my machine. I told him exactly where to go and then ended the call.
