Total rip-off!

Like others have mentioned, they kept insisting on unauthorised charges which weren't true. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number.

I ended the call quickly just so it would show up on my phone. I don't know anyone from Wakefield at all, so that was a red flag. Luckily, my phone lets me block numbers from ringing again, so I've put it on the blocked list now. If it was a real caller, they would’ve passed the usual screening prompts, but they never did. My landline phone screens calls automatically anyway, so I trust that it was dodgy.

Got a recorded call claiming to be from 'bank security' warning me about some strange activity on my account. Total scam, number 01924 218133. Be careful!

I noticed that the caller disconnected just as the call logged on my phone. If it had been a legitimate call, I reckon they'd have followed the screening process that my device offers. The fact that they didn’t is a clear indication this is dodgy. My phone is equipped with its own call filtering feature that effectively halts these nuisance calls. Plus, it has the option to blacklist pesky numbers, so I’ve made sure this one won’t be bothering me again!

I received a rather dodgy call from someone who turned out to be a scammer. The caller, an Asian gentleman presumably of Pakistani descent, claimed there were some dubious transactions linked to an international money transfer and that someone had placed an order for £300 in Amazon vouchers. When I inquired about his identity, there was an awkward silence. I then pressed him for the name of the bank he supposedly represented, and again, silence. When I asked for the number on the Visa card, he still didn’t respond. That’s when I firmly told him to get lost or I’d be alerting the authorities. He promptly disconnected. This all occurred on my BT landline, mind you!

A call came through to my BT line from someone of Pakistani descent, and they seemed to be fishing for banking information.

I got a recorded call saying there'd been some dodgy activity on my account but they never mentioned who was calling. I ended the call as soon as I heard that. Pretty sure it was just a scam.

Got a voicemail from some agency I'd never come across claiming I had two charges on my Amazon card. They told me to press one for more info or whatever. I just left the call running till it cut off on its own. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it.
