I've just had a call from this number. An individual with an accent that sounded Asian asked for me. The moment we explained that we weren't available at the time, they simply said thank you and promptly hung up. Quite odd, I must say!

Today, my TRUECALL device flagged a call from 01924215367. The system first prompted for the caller’s identification before checking if I wanted to connect. However, there was no reply, and my phone didn’t ring at all. I opted for this device after falling prey to misselling and fraud previously. It comes highly recommended by BT. In my experience, having such a deterrent means that (1) dodgy callers tend to hang up, knowing I won’t engage, and (2) I do not get bothered by these pesky calls anymore. There are a variety of other call screening and blocking gadgets that one can look into as well. Moreover, through my research, I discovered that telephone numbers can be acquired to seem UK-based, even when they’re actually ringing in from abroad. Additionally, those loud office backgrounds could very well just be pre-recorded audio. I’ve been led to believe that telecom providers struggle to prevent incoming calls from overseas.

I recently received a rather suspicious call from this number. They seemed to have my name and address at their fingertips and claimed they were dispatching a cheque for some supposed overpayment on my bank charges. When I inquired about which bank was supposedly involved, they abruptly hung up on me. Quite bizarre, don’t you think?

I had a rather persistent gentleman of Asian descent ring me up, insisting he was calling about a refund cheque from the "UK Department of Finance." When I probed into which specific department he represented and the reason behind sending me a cheque, he became quite irate and abruptly ended the call. Quite the questionable encounter, if you ask me!

I've been receiving calls from individuals who sounded Asian, claiming to know my name and home address. They were quite aggressive in attempting to get me to confirm my debit card information. When I refused to disclose anything, their persistence only grew stronger. Eventually, I had no choice but to hang up. Absolutely appalling behaviour!

I received a call from a bloke with an Asian accent who mentioned my name. He claimed he had a cheque for £99 and wanted to verify my birthdate. When he prodded for my bank details, I flatly refused to share them. That's when he threatened to rip up the cheque if I didn't cooperate. Quite the dodgy encounter, I'd say!

I suspect that this number could very well be linked to a scam related to computer repairs. They often purport to be representatives from Microsoft or organisations of that nature. It's worth noting that no credible tech company would reach out to clients via phone. Do yourself a favour and hang up!

I received a phone call similar to many others, claiming I was supposed to receive a cheque. They had all my information, but when I inquired about the specific bank responsible for the funds, they dodged the question and refused to provide their contact number. As soon as you detect that accent, it's best to keep them on hold for as long as possible!

I had a call from a woman with a strong Asian accent who asserted that my bank was in the position of refunding me cash because I had overpaid on certain fees. I decided to hang up as it was quite clear it was a scam. To be honest, I’ve never even incurred any bank charges!

I've received a handful of calls from this particular number. The caller wouldn't disclose their identity and then abruptly ended the call. Since my number is unlisted, I'm quite curious to find out how they managed to obtain it. I attempted to call back, but it seems the number is unreachable.

I've been bombarded with a dozen calls from this number lately, but every time I try to engage, they just hang up. The only time they didn't was when they asked for my bank information under the guise of arranging a PPI refund. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

I received a call from a woman with a strong Asian accent, claiming that I was entitled to a refund on some bank fees. As soon as I mentioned she must have dialled the wrong number, she abruptly ended the call. Clearly a scam, right? Is there really no way to put a stop to these nuisances?

I just received a rather peculiar phone call, so I decided to play along and see where it led. The caller had my full name, address, and date of birth, as well as my wife's name. His accent was distinctly Asian, which made our conversation somewhat tricky. He claimed there was a cheque for £1200 waiting for me due to some supposed overpayment of bank charges and asked for the name of my bank. I mentioned my current bank, but he was adamant that I had another account. To my surprise, he was right-I do have a dormant account with NatWest. He then asked me to retrieve my card and proceeded to read out the first eight digits. He tried very convincingly to get me to confirm the remaining eight by reading them back to him. The way he carried on was quite insistent; it nearly had me convinced, so I played along for a good quarter of an hour. In the end, I decided to say no, and he promptly hung up. What on earth could this individual be up to?

It seems I'm not alone in receiving one of those unsolicited 'lucky strikes' that require a bit of personal info in exchange. It's glaringly obvious they’re not about to send me anything in the post. At precisely 11:31 in the morning on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, I received a call from a chap who claimed I'd overpaid on something or other and supposedly had a cheque ready for me. To my surprise, he had both my name and address, which set off alarm bells. He insisted that he needed to know which bank to deposit the cheque into along with my account details. Naturally, I refused and told him simply to send the cheque. To my astonishment, he abruptly hung up! After the fact, I dialled 1471 to trace the number-turns out it was 01924215367. I've been inundated with calls from this particular number. They seem to have an uncanny knowledge of my name, address, and even my date of birth. It's rather puzzling, seeing as I’m ex-directory-how on earth did they manage to acquire my information? The caller has an accent that's quite hard to decipher and insists that I have some funds waiting for me, asking for my banking details. When I suggested that they send me a cheque instead, given they already know where to reach me, they just carried on. The moment I hang up, they’re straight back on the line again. Oddly enough, even though the number registers on my phone, if you try to return the call, the line is completely silent. It's been a relentless barrage of calls over the past several weeks.

I've been bombarded by this number non-stop, morning and night. An Asian gentleman keeps ringing, repeatedly inquiring about individuals that aren't associated with my residence. I've thrown in the towel with BT; they seem utterly disinterested in putting an end to these persistent harassers. It's baffling to me why it’s such an uphill battle for BT to sever this line or any others that behave similarly. The most recent call was downright offensive, hurling obscenities at me. At this point, I reckon my only recourse is to switch my number entirely.

A few weeks back, I received a rather dodgy call from this number, claiming I had been overcharged by my bank. I promptly ended the call, sensing it was a scam. Today, they tried their luck again. This time, an Asian gentleman introduced himself as being from UK Finance, insisting he was mailing me a cheque for those supposed overcharges. Feeling a bit cheeky, I decided to engage him in a little inquiry. I told him to go ahead and send the cheque; he then mentioned needing to conduct a ‘security check’. When I pressed him for the name of the bank that owed me this windfall, he hesitated before saying Halifax. I asked him how much I could expect, and he oddly stated it could range from a couple of hundred to a few thousand pounds. I playfully remarked that any amount would be lovely, especially coming from Halifax, given that I’ve never even banked with them! Unsurprisingly, he dropped the call like a hot potato.

I received a call from this number earlier today. To my surprise, they were already aware of my name and address. Then they proceeded to ask me for my date of birth, which I found rather alarming. What really sent warning bells ringing was when they revealed the first four digits of my bank card number and requested that I confirm the remainder. Naturally, I refused to provide any further details. They wrapped up the conversation by informing me that I should expect a letter through the post shortly. I recently received a rather dodgy call from this number, claiming they had a cheque waiting for us from the bank. They then proceeded to ask me to verify the lengthy number on my card, which I flat out refused to do. Next, they bizarrely suggested revealing the first four digits of our card, as if I would take the bait. Honestly, how daft do they think I am? It’s common knowledge that most debit cards from your bank share the same starting digits. The bloke on the other end began to sound increasingly irritable when I requested that they provide information in writing. My advice? Just hang up the phone and go straight to your bank for confirmation.

I recently received a phone call from this number claiming something about a high court decision regarding my eligibility for a refund. When I inquired about their identity, the caller abruptly lost interest and hung up on me! Quite the odd encounter, to say the least.

I received a call today, and the chap on the other end quickly figured out he wasn’t making any headway with me. To my utter dismay, he resorted to making some rather rude noises. Absolutely appalling!
I once had a right nuisance with a firm ringing me up from India, but after lodging a complaint on the Bombay Police website, categorising it as a minor offence, they've since left me in peace.

I was on the hunt for a phone that could dodge unwanted calls-something that could pick up and engage the caller with a rather tedious message. Perhaps something along the lines of, "Hello, this is Betty Blue speaking. You’ve reached Whitehall 1212 Bank. How can I assist you in wasting your time today?"

Received a call this evening at precisely 17:50 on the 30th of January 2014. An individual with an Asian accent requested I verify my name, which I complied with, followed by my address. The next inquiry was rather perplexing: “Could you confirm your date of birth?” I replied, “No, you should validate that information for me since I haven’t the foggiest idea who you are.” The response I got was quite shocking: “P*** off. You can get lost!” before he abruptly ended the call. Charming, isn't it?

Received a call this evening, and I answered without offering a greeting until the caller spoke first. They inquired for the lady of the house, and upon stating she wasn’t home and requesting their identity, they had the audacity to claim they were her boyfriend! How utterly disrespectful! I'd like this number blocked immediately, please.

I just received a call from them - as soon as I answered with a ‘hello’, they hung up on me. I did a quick 1471 to grab the number and then looked it up online, which led me to this fantastic site. Such useful information! 😊

I truly appreciate your fantastic website and the valuable guidance it offers. I've encountered calls from these scammers before. Previously, an individual with a heavy Indian accent claimed he could facilitate a reimbursement from my bank for overcharges. I informed him that I had no interest in such a payment and didn't require it at all. His reaction was quite explosive; he yelled in an agitated manner, prompting me to promptly disconnect the call. Today, on the 27th of January at around 16:59, I received yet another call from this number. It rang merely six times before ceasing. After trying 1471, I realised it was yet another attempt from these con artists. Despite being ex-directory and registered with the telephone preference service, these nuisances still manage to get through.

A caller requested to have a word with Mrs. ........... (my name). When I inquired about the purpose of the call, he insisted on speaking to Mrs. .......... yet again. I pressed for clarification, and much to my surprise, he snapped back with "Who do you think YOU are?" At that moment, I decided to hang up - a move I should have made straight away, as I typically would!

This morning at 9 o’clock on a Saturday, we received a phone call while we were still in our slumber. If only there was a way to block these pesky cold callers entirely! We typically endure around two or three of these a day. We try to be civil and request to be taken off their lists; sometimes it seems to work, but other times, it’s simply in vain. It tends to go quiet for a few days and then it’s like a flood of calls resumes. I had a look on Google, specifically “who calls me?”, and noticed that this number was last active back in November. Clearly, someone’s dusted it off and started ringing again. Living in Lancashire does not come with a reprieve from this nuisance! I truly appreciate resources like this one; our best tactic remains just to ignore them, I suppose?

The other day, my husband picked up a call from a man with an Indian accent who asked, "Am I speaking to Mr........." followed by our surname. It seemed rather odd, so my husband responded by saying that we had a block on unwanted calls. Without missing a beat, the caller abruptly ended the conversation!

Everything that needs to be mentioned has already been covered in the earlier remarks. It's absolutely outrageous how these tricksters manage to operate without consequence. They’re nothing more than crooks, and it's high time the government stepped up and put an end to this incessant nuisance of cold calling! As a retiree, I find myself plagued by no fewer than four of these unsolicited calls each day. Despite being signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, it seems to have made little difference.

I've recently been contacted by an individual from India claiming they were sending me a cheque from a bank I’ve never heard of, supposedly to refund some overpaid charges. They mentioned they were representing the UK government, but then proceeded to ask for my personal details for “verification” purposes. Surely this can’t be legitimate, can it? Sounds like a classic scam to me, pretending to be affiliated with the government!

An Indian lady just called, claiming she had a cheque to send my husband from his bank. She then proceeded to probe him for his bank details, to which he questioned her, pointing out that she ought to have that information already. After that, she abruptly ended the call. Strangely enough, the phone rang three more times-each time without anyone on the line. Then, she got back to us, demanding I hand the phone over to my husband, but I declined. When I pressed her for clarification, she promptly hung up again. Quite suspicious behaviour if you ask me!

I recently received a rather dodgy call from a number I didn’t recognise. An individual claiming to be called Jamie, who sounded Indian, informed me that he was dispatching a cheque to reimburse some bank charges. To my surprise, he knew my home address, which I thought was highly suspicious. When I pressed him for the name of the company he represented, he said it was UK Financial and that they were situated in Eastbourne. The whole conversation had the whiff of a scam about it - fishing for personal information, if you ask me! He abruptly ended the call shortly after providing that detail, which only heightened my suspicions.

Today, a woman with an Indian accent called my grandfather’s home. She verified his name before abruptly hanging up after saying thank you. I have a nagging feeling they’ll be back! It’s concerning, really, for the elderly and those who might not see through such tactics. Luckily, I was there to lend a hand and advised him not to pick up if they ring again! It’s infuriating to think about these con artists!

I’ve just been browsing the feedback on this number and it seems I had a rather peculiar call from a chap who seemed to be Indian. He claimed he was representing a firm (the name slipped my mind) that was supposedly refunding customers for unjust bank fees. My suspicions were immediately aroused! When I inquired which bank he was referring to, he said it was Lloyds. I found that rather odd as I don’t hold an account with them. Before I could say anything else, he cut the line. It’s reasonable to conclude he was probably attempting to extract sensitive bank or credit card information for nefarious reasons. Stay vigilant, everyone!

I received a call from someone with an Indian accent. They mentioned my name and, upon my confirmation, abruptly ended the conversation. I’m really hesitant to pick up from this number again, but it has me curious-what could they have discovered in that brief exchange? If they didn’t get anything useful, what was the point of the call?

Cheers to all for sharing your thoughts! I received a call from this number, but they hung up before I could even say hello-most likely they were busy with another call. I received a rather curious phone call from a chap claiming to be affiliated with the Microsoft technical support team. He insisted that my Windows machine was sending out alarming security alerts. However, upon questioning him-since I don’t actually own a Windows device-he became quite aggressive in his tone. It was quite amusing, really, because the call seemed to originate from what sounded like a bustling call centre. He urged me to power up my computer so he could extract personal details. My advice? Never disclose any information about your computer to someone over the phone. Stay vigilant!

I received a rather peculiar call from this number at 11:08. There was a woman on the line, possibly with an Indian accent, claiming to represent some financial services based in the UK. She mentioned that I was due a refund cheque for some overpayments made to my bank. Strangely enough, she had all my correct details, including my name and address, but then insisted on knowing my date of birth and the bank into which I intended to deposit the cheque. I firmly told her that my banking choices were not her concern. She simply said "thank you" and promptly ended the call. Who exactly are these individuals? I can't help but feel uneasy for the older folk and those who might fall for such tactics...

Today, I had a rather suspicious call from this number about some supposed bank charge refund. The bloke had my name and address, which immediately set off alarm bells. When he, with a distinctly Indian accent, requested my date of birth for verification, I promptly declined. They mentioned something about being able to get a refund for bank charges. It leaves me scratching my head, though: how on earth do they have my information??? It's infuriating that our so-called privacy measures seem to be quite so flimsy. Honestly, I’m absolutely fed up with these nuisances. I've already received a whopping 153 calls this year - and there are still a few hours left to go! Honestly, what a cheek. Rrrrrrrrrr!

This evening, I received a rather peculiar phone call from a chap with a rather distinctive accent. He claimed to represent UK Financial Services and insisted that a bank owed me £1,200, which he was apparently ready to dispatch via cheque. He had both my name and address but requested my date of birth for verification. I decided to end the conversation and, not long after, he rang me again, stating that the funds owed were due to overcharged fees. He even mentioned the correct bank name and asserted he had access to my account number. Feeling uneasy, I promptly disconnected the call again.

Received a rather dubious phone call earlier today around quarter past two, from a chap with an Asian accent. He introduced himself as being from some place I couldn't quite catch. Then he proceeded to inform me that my computer had 'critical errors' popping up. I couldn't help but chuckle, questioning how on earth he could discern anything about my computer’s status just through a phone chat. I called him foolish before he hastily ended the call. I’m curious if he’ll try to ring again. Just another classic scam attempt, isn't it?

I received a call from this number at precisely 09:45 on the 21st of December, 2013, and I discovered it through the 1471 service. Interestingly, when I tried to return the call directly, it didn't connect. However, if I used the automated system, which incurs a fee, it actually worked and produced a sound reminiscent of flipping pages, quite like the feature on eBay. (I only attempted to reach out because I had a hunch it might be an eBay seller wanting to arrange the pick-up of some items.) It certainly feels as though there’s a phone provider in cahoots with these con artists-anyone have an idea who they could be?

I must say, this firm certainly has a knack for hiring some rather peculiar-and occasionally amusing-employees. I've received numerous calls from them, during which they simply meow like cats, spouted off nonsense, and effectively squandered both their time and resources. Keep it up, lads; at this rate, they’ll surely be in the red before long!
