I received a call from someone who claimed to be Mary from BT Openreach, apparently. I could tell straight away she wasn't genuine because I’m familiar with their contact numbers. As soon as I pointed that out, she abruptly hung up!

Just had a new router set up yesterday. Received a call from someone with a strong Indian accent-first a woman, then a man. They kept mentioning something about a "testing service" and claimed that I was owed £255. Quite peculiar!

I keep getting calls from someone called Steve who says he’s from BT Openreach. Pretty sure it’s just a scam call.

I received a call earlier today that had me worried for a moment, nearly costing me some cash. They claimed to be from BT Openreach, saying they needed to check the speed of my new router that had just arrived. They also mentioned some compensation I was supposedly owed, which made it sound quite believable. Then, they told me they had accidentally deposited too much money into my account and requested I ring my bank right away to return the excess. Something felt off, so I reached out to my bank's fraud team, who swiftly froze my account to keep any losses at bay. Quite the close call!

That's a rather cunning scam, isn't it? Just the other day, I had been chatting with BT about some internet issues I was having. So when I got a call today, it all seemed quite authentic. They wanted me to install TeamViewer, which raised some red flags for me, especially since I've been bombarded with annoying, unsolicited calls lately. I decided to end the conversation before they could gain access to my computer. After hanging up, I rang BT to verify, and they assured me it was indeed a scam. A quick search for the number brought me to this site. It’s truly disheartening to think that there are folks out there who would stoop so low.

I had a rather similar encounter, though I had the presence of mind to end the call before they could extract any financial info from me. Just had a new modem fitted and an upgrade to my service not long ago, so when I received a rather convincing call claiming to be from BT Openreach, checking on my line speed, alarm bells started ringing. It’s a bit disconcerting how they seemed to be privy to my recent changes. It does make me wonder if there’s a rogue element within my internet service provider or BT itself that’s leaking such details.

I recently received a rather dodgy call from this number, with someone on the other end sporting an Asian accent. They were keen for me to log onto my computer and grant them access, claiming they needed to issue a refund for an alleged overcharge from a transaction I made about a year back. It's worth noting that a certain company did indeed tinker with my computer back then; they provided assistance but charged me an arm and a leg for it. What's more, this same firm attempted to siphon money from my credit card without my approval last year, but thankfully, my credit card provider spotted the irregularity and nipped it in the bud. The caller mentioned they’d be in touch again in a week's time. I suspect this is nothing more than a scam, and I'll be steering clear of it!

Without a doubt, this is a total con. Make sure to notify OFCOM about it.

Claimed to be from Openreach regarding internet issues. However, it felt rather fishy and not very trustworthy.

I've received calls from this number claiming to be BT Openreach, attempting to persuade me to grant them access to my computer in order to "inspect my broadband connection." At first, they seemed quite credible, but something felt off, which raised my suspicions about their intentions...
