Got a call from a woman saying I was owed a refund from Sky, but I've never even had Sky. She kept pressing for my dob, which seemed odd, so I just hung up. Pretty obvious this was a scam. She even used a name that came from the BT directory - turns out it’s my wife’s maiden name from ages ago, like 30 years back. Seems like they’re just fishing through old phone listings.

This is the number I use. One morning, I was bombarded with more than 50 calls from people claiming I’d rung them. I barely use my phone, so I kept telling them it wasn’t me. Some of the callers were really rude, and one even warned they’d involve the police. I got so frustrated with all the calls that I ended up disconnecting my phone altogether. If you get a call saying it’s from 01923 678700, please know it definitely isn’t me. I’ve already told my phone provider about what’s going on.
