Even though the number showed up as the RAC in Walsall, it was actually 'spoofed' - meaning the genuine caller ID was swapped for theirs. OFCOM has info on this ID spoofing stuff, and it’s frequently done through Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). If you’re not expecting an RAC patrol, chances are it’s a scam.
