Seems like it's an O2 reseller calling. I wouldn't say it's a scam, but they sure do push hard on trying to get you to upgrade with loads of sales talk.

Got calls from this number loads over the last couple of weeks. I picked up today and the guy on the other end said he was with O2 and could offer me a better deal and a phone upgrade. I told him I’m still paying off my current phone, then he said he couldn’t hear me clearly. I ended the call, but he rang back a few more times after that. In the end, I just blocked the number.

I got a call from a lady who actually knew my name and said it was about my O2 contract. Then suddenly she messed up what she was saying and the phone just cut off.
