Some bloke pretending to be from Openreach rang me, saying there was a fault with my internet. Had a hard time making out what this ‘Jason’ was jabbering on about. Pretty clear it was a dodgy call. I decided to mess with them, giving nonsense answers to questions about my device and whatnot. Told ’em my name was ‘Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill’ - shocker, they didn’t bat an eye! Early in the call I said the line was crackly and I couldn’t hear much. Then ‘Jason’ passes me over to a ‘mate’ called ‘John’. I kept them talking for over 11 minutes, but eventually ‘John’ gave up and hung up when I asked for their phone number so I could call back on a clearer line. Both had Indian accents and you could hear loads of background noise in the call.
