Struggled to understand the guy cos of his strong foreign accent, and pretty sure he wasn't even calling from here. He did say my name, but I never said it was actually me. When I asked him to tell me his full name so I could check online, he suddenly said, “You don’t believe my name’s Albert?” I said no, and then the call just went dead. Best thing is always to ask for the full name, they seem to drop off every time.

Loads of scam calls popping up every week, usually like 10-15 times, mostly from places like India or Bangladesh. It seems like they’re just trying their luck until they catch someone. Honestly, these calls should be banned completely. We always leave the answerphone on so we can check who’s ringing us. If the number looks familiar, we either pick up or ring them back.

I’m not inclined to pick up if I’m unfamiliar with the number. This morning alone, I’ve received three calls claiming £900 has been withdrawn from my bank via Visa, and I’m utterly fed up with these call centre nuisances. If it were genuinely crucial, they’d at least leave a message, wouldn’t they?

Had a call from some random number but when i answered the line was dead, kept buzzing non stop tho. No clue who that was.

I asked who was on the line, and the woman snapped at me saying it wasn't any of my concern before telling me to f### off.

They rang my home phone a couple of times in half an hour and didn’t leave any voicemail.

Got a call from someone called Christine who wanted me to verify my name. I asked her which company she was with, and then she just started swearing before cutting the call.

It sounded like a scam to me - the call was super brief and I couldn’t make out a word they were saying.

Luckily I’m deaf, so if the person talking isn’t clear, I just say sorry and end the call. This guy had a thick accent and I couldn’t make out half of what he was on about. Then he went on about telecom issues coming from a house that’s completely empty and not even hooked up! Quite odd really.

This individual rather rudely told me to shove off when I refused to disclose my name. She didn’t bother to explain the reason for her call either.

01920463708 I really do wish they'd put an end to this wretched scam call nonsense, and quickly too!

I picked up and got a quick, hard to understand voice, sounded Asian, then they just cut the call off. A few weeks back I had similar calls from what I reckon is the same scammer, probably up to no good trying to steal info. Best steer clear of this number!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with BT. Their English was really hard to get. Didn’t bother answering after that, just blocked the number.

The line was really crackly and hard to hear. The caller had a heavy Indian accent and spoke really broken English. It was clear she was just reading from a script, saying she was from BT and that there was an issue with my internet. When I asked where she was calling from, she kept trying to give me a number to ring back, but she got all flustered whenever I asked something that wasn’t in the script. After a while, she just suddenly ended the call.

Someone pretending to be from Visa called to 'confirm' my info. They weren’t very convincing, but it’s still definitely a scam. I really wish the police would do more to catch these fraudsters.

Got a call from someone saying they were from the visa fraud team. Asked for a contact number to check it was genuine but they refused, so I ended the call. I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call from someone saying they were from BT’s tech support. Since I’m currently changing my provider to BT, I almost believed it at first. Then he started telling me my internet was “compromised.” I reminded him I’m not even a BT customer yet, so there’s no way he could know that. He then claimed BT owns Virgin Media. That was the last straw - I just hung up straight away!

I got a call at 7.45 this morning from a bloke who said he was from BT's tech team, but honestly I could barely catch what he was saying. I told him to call me back in an hour. Since I’m not even a BT customer, I’m just going to block the number. After reading through other comments, it seems like a bit of a scam.

The call was really scratchy so I couldn't make out much, but I think she mentioned something about the internet. When I asked her to say it again, she just hung up on me 🤨

Somebody called saying they were from BT Openreach. As far as I know, Openreach deals mostly with business clients, and anyway, I’m not even a BT customer. So it felt a bit fishy to me.

Got a call saying something about my Visa, sounded fishy right away. I just hung up cause Barclays would never call asking for my card or pin info. If you get calls from places like Amazon or Visa using robo-voices, just ignore them and hit 1471 to catch the number. Write it down and pass it on to whoever handles scam calls, maybe Ofcom or a similar body. Better safe than sorry!

I just got a call from a robot voice saying £900 was charged to my Visa for some online shopping. It’s definitely a scam. Don’t hit any keys or you’ll end up getting charged, probably from an expensive premium line.

This number and a few others linked to it have been calling me too, usually saying you owe some kind of tax. It seems like a really dodgy scam, so watch out!
