I received a rather odd call from someone inquiring whether I had any maintenance issues with my home. They were also curious about whether I was renting or if I owned the property outright. The individual asserted that they were affiliated with the local housing department. I decided to block that number straight away!

Had a call from someone claiming it was about council repairs - turns out it was a total scam! Bit ironic really, since I actually work for the local council myself!

I picked up the phone and there was quiet for like 15 seconds. Then some guy asked if Emmal was there. I told him there’s no Emma here and no one named Emma in this house. He just said sorry and hung up. No clue who it was or why they called.

some bloke rang me up sayin he was from the council's housing dept, asking if anything was broke that needed fixing.

Calls from 1471 keep coming in non-stop. They always try the same trick about my computer being on the verge of crashing or my software licence expiring. Bit strange cos my licence actually covers all my devices, and honestly, my computer's way faster than whatever scam rig they’re using. So, I just let him jabber away while I got on with my work. Over the 25 minutes he was on the line, I managed to make more than £900 trading shares. Pretty sure he wasn’t doing anything near that!
