Got a call from an Asian bloke named “Clive” (funny name, right?), who was trying to do some kind of survey. He spoke pretty hard to understand but somehow already had my name, address, and postcode. He asked if I was the homeowner and then my age. When I told him I’m almost 80, he just cut me off! Bit of a shame really, as I enjoy dragging these calls out, feeding them wrong answers and having a laugh messing with them.

I received a rather brusque phone call from someone with an African accent. They were insistent on speaking to my husband and didn’t seem very polite at all.

Typical prat just ended the call right away, nothing new really.

The bloke’s English was really poor. He kept asking for my husband, and I told him he wasn’t around. Then I asked who was calling, but he just hung up. Seems like a classic scam call to me. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number.

They phoned me back at about 1:35pm, asked if it was me by name, and as soon as I said yes, the call just dropped on their end.

Got a call from a lady with an African accent who somehow already knew my name and where I live. She started asking if the house was mine and what age bracket I fall into. When I asked her why she needed that info and who she was working for, she just sighed and ended the call. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Got a call around 1:20pm but no one answered when I picked up. Reckon it might be a blocked number or some kinda weird call. If someone else picks up next time, I'll try to have a word. Strange situation!

Got a call from these so called national survey people, but if you ring them back it’s just a trick to grab your details so they can pass them along to other scammers trying to get you to buy stuff like fake extended warranties. I actually enjoy messing with them and wasting their time. Most of these crooks seem to be based in India, where their government doesn’t really see it as a crime since they’re not affecting anyone inside their own country.

I couldn’t really make out what the person on the phone was saying. But from the noise in the background, it definitely seemed like they were calling from some sort of call centre.

I got a call from this lady with a strong foreign accent, but I honestly couldn’t make out most of what she was saying. She kept going on, and at one point mentioned something like, “I’m not here to sell you stuff,” which didn’t really clear anything up. Ended up just blocking the number.
