Someone rang me from this number, claiming to be representing Vodafone. They said I could benefit from some discounts and offers related to broadband services. Quite curious, really!

Be careful, this is definitely a scam! If you want to do something about it, try searching for ‘action fraud’ and head over to the official ‘police-uk’ website. There you’ll find a section called ‘report a phishing attempt’ - have a read of all the advice they give. After that, you can put in the details of the scam straight into their database. Make sure to add any links or website info you have. You don’t need to sign up or hand over any personal data. Reporting these calls and messages helps the police get a better picture of how widespread these scams are.

Got a call where they knew our names but nothing else, which was a bit odd. My partner just told them we weren’t interested and ended the call. After that, we popped the number into the phone’s call blocker using BT's free service - you just dial 1572 and it blocks the last caller. So now if they ring back, it goes straight to blocked voicemail.

Some woman called claiming it was for a lifestyle survey or something like that. Since it was a slow Saturday arvo and I wasn’t busy, I just kept chatting to her to waste her time. After a while, she must’ve clocked that I wasn’t taking it seriously cos she just ended the call. Done with this one, reported and blocked!

I received a call but it was just a pre-recorded message, so I didn’t bother sticking around and ended the call right away.

Once more, this has proven to be quite helpful! I simply cannot seem to escape the clutches of these ill-mannered, unpleasant, and overly demanding individuals!
