2 yearsSounds a bit dodgy, if you ask me. Claimed to be a company offering debt relief, but I didn't stick around to chat for long.5 yearsGave me a bell on the 16th of November around half past six. Honestly, I couldn't make heads or tails of what he was babbling on about, so I decided to end the call and block the number.5 yearsGot a call from this number and it was a polite guy with an Asian accent pretending to be from my bank. He was asking for my account info, which seemed off to me. Be careful with calls like this!5 yearsI didn’t pick up since I have a number blocked, but they just rang me from another one instead.5 yearsI got a call from a scammer trying to get my details. Best thing to do is just end the call straight away and block the number, dont engage with them.5 yearsSince Monday, I've received over 20 phone calls from different numbers all around the UK, and every caller seems to have a pronounced Asian accent. They all say they're from a debt management company. They kick off the conversation quite abruptly, usually just asking, "Is that...?" and only using my first name. It's absolutely ridiculous-these con artists have been blocked!UK5 yearsI've been receiving numerous calls since Monday, each one from a different number and all featuring a pronounced Asian accent claiming to represent the Credit Investigation Unit. Initially, I was quite cautious, especially when the caller mentioned my COMPLETE name. He proceeded to inquire about any debts I might have, to which I replied that, honestly, who doesn't have some financial burden? He then proceeded to say that the government was providing assistance. I promptly told him to shove off and ended the call. This all started after I submitted an online loan application, during which I explicitly opted out of any third-party communication!Credit Investigation Unit5 yearsI’ve just started receiving calls from this number today (17/11/21), and remarkably, it’s already been looked up a whopping 661 times! I’ve gone ahead and blocked it on my phone. Honestly, I wish they’d just back off and not bother me anymore!5 yearsJust like the last time, I cheekily requested a king prawn vindaloo along with a couple of chappatis, not to mention Gandhi's autograph for good measure! Absolutely hilarious!Gandhi5 yearsHas anyone had a conversation with 'Cashplus'? If you have received a call from this number or any other so-called 'debt advisory' firms, then it's highly improbable that's just a coincidence. I have a suspicion that my information has been passed on, perhaps for some form of incentive, to debt relief services (not agencies, mind you - agencies don’t charge you a penny) without my consent, courtesy of Cashplus. I missed a payment due to being hospitalised and completely out of it for over a fortnight. Once I was finally out, I’ll admit that my focus was a bit self-centred. Cashplus was a new creditor for me and I was still managing payments manually, which meant I missed one. They contacted me, and I settled the bill, yet they were extraordinarily eager to get me referred for debt advice. I made it clear that I was alright and that it was just a one-off hiccup, but they were relentless. At that moment, I thought it was commendable of them, but I still chose to pass on their suggestion. Just hours later, the phone calls began incessantly.
