It's mad that firms pretending to be legit still bother with cold calls nowadays. They claimed to be from British Gas but obviously weren't. Just a load of time wasters!

They scam you by grabbing your info and signing up for phone deals on your behalf. Then, they'll ring you up pretending to be polite, and when you say you never asked for the phone that arrived, they'll give you an address to send it back to - but really, they just swipe the phones.

someone called saying they were with amwir ginari or something like that, but spoke so quickly i couldn't catch what they really meant. then they asked for my work email to check who i was, but i told them they'd got the wrong number. after that, they just ended the call.
