Got a call from some bloke claiming he was from the 'claims dept' or something, couldn't quite catch his name. Said it was about a car accident. The number showed up as Sunderland, which seemed legit since I’ve got family there, so I picked up. Some bloke called me, claiming he was from India, though I’m not convinced about that. He was banging on about some crash I supposedly had, which is nonsense ‘cos I haven’t. Didn’t even know my name or any details like my licence number. Plus, he couldn’t tell me where he worked properly, and when I looked up the business he mentioned, it wasn’t real. Total rubbish from start to finish.

Finally got a number blocked through my phone company. When I checked the blocked digits, it turned out to be a mobile, not the 0191 landline I originally saw. It's about time the UK telecoms cleaned up this mess and stopped scammers from using real numbers to trick people.
