Ugh, it’s got to be some sort of computer programme making these calls, so many of them! Total scam vibes, grrr!

Got two calls today and my TrueCall gadget blocked both. Honestly, it's way better than depending on TPS, which is totally useless and doesn't do a thing.

They rang me at 14:01 and then called once more at 14:56, but didn’t leave any voicemail.

They didn’t leave any message, so I have no clue what it was about. Probably just some spam or telemarketer. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number.

Got a couple of calls from this number over two days. Didn’t answer the first time, but the second time someone with an accent said they were Jim from Medicare. Didn’t hang around, ended the call quick. Feels like a scam to me.

They called my elderly mum, who’s 90, and somehow convinced her to hand over her bank info for a supposed charge of £290. What freaked me out more was how they kept probing with all sorts of personal questions, like whether she lives by herself. Does the Police know about this? Aren’t they doing anything to protect our elderly folks from these awful people taking advantage of them? It’s really heartbreaking.

I had a call from a woman claiming her name was Jessica, said she was from India. She tried to sell me a "free" medical alarm, which she said was worth £400. Then she asked for my bank details to take £29 a month. I even told her I had cancer and diabetes to put her off, but she just kept going like she was reading from a script. Really upsetting that folks like this are out there.

Sounds like a right awful lot of dodgy callers! When the phone rang, nobody said a word, so we just ended the call. Going through the reviews here now, I’m actually relieved we kept quiet. We’ve had just about enough of these nasty scammers preying on older folks and anyone easy to trick.

It's so annoying when you're disabled and you finally answer a call that might matter, only for them to hang up straight away. Proper frustrating!

They claimed to be calling from some medical service, but since they didn’t mention any particular company, I figured it was probably a scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with the medical alert company that rings me weekly to check in. I was a bit thrown off. They said I was eligible for an upgrade on my alarm and proceeded to describe the exact model I’m already using. Felt like a total scam, so I played along for a bit before telling them exactly what I thought of their nonsense! Calls like these are really troubling, especially for disabled folks who already rely on these systems. It feels pretty risky to me!

My house phone rang but no one said a word. I can imagine how freaky that must be for some folks. These calls have got to end, it shouldn’t be that tricky to put a stop to them. BT should really stop handing out landline numbers to these types. We definitely need tighter regulations on this.

So this guy rang me up asking if I was "---------", and stupidly, I said yeah. He went on about some medical thing I'd supposedly qualified for, but honestly, I couldn’t really catch what he was on about ‘cause his Indian accent was really thick. He never told me his name or where he was calling from, so I just ended the call.

It definitely had that old fax machine vibe to it. Pretty sure it was some kind of scam. Not buying it.

Picked up the phone and the caller just hung up straight away. Didn’t recognise the number, so I’m guessing it’s a no from me.

Honestly, these callers should either find something better to do or just move away. I hardly bother answering my phone nowadays - it’s just pointless and costs me cash. There ought to be a way to block calls from unknown numbers like you can on smartphones.

I ignored the call since the number was unfamiliar, and they never bothered to leave any sort of message.

They rang up asking for the person who had the number like 9 years back or something? I reckon whoever had it then was probably targeted by some scammy lot. They tried to sell me a personal alarm system too.

Got a call on my landline from a man with a foreign accent claiming to represent some medical service I'd never heard of. He was trying to sell personal alarm systems for people over 50 and wanted to know my birth date. I said no way. Then he admitted he gets why I’d be cautious since scams are so common nowadays. I told him I reckon this was one of those scams and promptly ended the call.

They just cut me off right after I stayed silent.
