I was assisting a mate to sort out an account with SSE and we got a call from this number. We shared all the info and I jotted down the new electricity and gas account numbers. The bloke on the phone mentioned my mate would get an email confirmation but since nothing showed up, I rang SSE customer service the next day - 0345 071 9710. They confirmed the account was set up alright but there was a mistake in the email address. So just to clear things up, this number IS NOT A SCAM. It's definitely linked to SSE.

Kept ringing over and over - saying they’re some fancy energy company, saying there’s a meter at our business that needs updating. I asked them for the meter number, but they had no idea; also didn’t know who supplies our energy. Did a bit of digging and found out it’s just a call centre. They do loads of calls like this. Told them I wasn’t interested and that was that.

They ring me every single day. I told them I’m not interested, yet the same guy rang me 4 times within 15 minutes. I blocked the number but still, I get at least 2 calls a day, nonstop. Properly annoying muppets. If anyone has any tips to make these jerks stop, please share quick! Feels like I’m being followed or something, and I’m pretty sure it’s against data protection rules since I’ve asked them loads of times to take me off their list. Absolute muppets.

Got a call supposed to be from the utility about “Smart Meters”. I answered but it was obvious an auto dialer cos there was a weird silence then a robot voice saying who they were. It said if I wanted to speak to someone I could wait or call another number. Or just block them, which is what I did.

Honestly, I just let it ring out if I think it’s a robo call, they usually hang up pretty quick. If I do pick up, I just play along for a bit and have a bit of a laugh. It cheers me up rather than getting annoyed. I’ve even told them “Hi, I’m Beyoncé” just for a giggle. Just don’t give ‘em a reason to call back again!

She said she was calling from Utilitarian and asked if I was the one who pays the energy bills. I told her I work nights and she’d just woken me up. She asked me to say it again since the line was bad, but I could hear her fine. Then she said she couldn’t hear me properly and that she’d call back. I think she caught me telling her “don’t bother,” but either way, I blocked the number straight away. Now I’m trying to get back to sleep!

Got calls from 5712 and 5713 too. Once they asked for me by name, which was a bit strange. I like to ‘pick up’ and just let them ramble on to no one, they never say why they’re ringing. Now they’re all blocked and marked as spam on my phone.
