I got a call from BT Broadband while I was abroad, but it only lasted about 23 seconds before the person hung up. As soon as the caller started with their dishonest spiel, I just put the phone right up against my radio speaker. This was the first time I saw this number popping up on my phone, and it’s clearly a SCAM it’s a spoofed number!

I received a call from someone purporting to represent Scottish Power, a company I'm currently in the midst of switching away from. The caller insisted that I provide personal information for 'security' purposes to verify my identity. I made it clear that since she was the one who contacted me, it was up to her to authenticate who she was first. After reiterating this, I decided to end the conversation and hung up.

I'm really glad I looked this up first. I tried to copy the number but ended up calling it by mistake, and it just went straight to voicemail before I could hang up. The voicemail message said something about "Welcome to Puzzles Digest." I’ve heard of this company before linked with some kind of giveaway, so it might not be harmful exactly. Still, I wouldn’t be surprised if the number's been spoofed. Either way, getting calls like this is just plain annoying.

Got a call from Puzzles Direct today. They knew my name straight away and wanted me to verify my door number and postcode for some Halloween contest to win an F&M hamper. I told them, why would you need those details unless I actually won? They just said “Have a nice day” and ended the call. Bit odd if you ask me!
