I haven't a clue who they were, so I just left them rambling on by themselves when I picked up the phone.

It threw me off a bit at first. The code 0191 does match the north east area - like Newcastle, which is the bit north of the Tyne, and Gateshead’s the south side along with parts of county Durham. The next numbers, 6719611 or something similar, seem odd because Northumberland wouldn’t be linked to those. Even though it fits the standard landline format, something about it felt wrong. 0191 is definitely a fixed line area code though.

They asked me for my name first, then went on about me getting a letter about some PPI claim (which I've never had). I've blocked the number now.

Blimey, I've no clue who these folks are. I picked up the phone and greeted them with “Welcome to Mitchell’s funeral parlour,” and before I could even ask how I might assist, they’d already hung up!

Clearly whatever they were after wasn’t too pressing. Quite the mystery, really!

Absolutely tired of this nonsense. This woman, who had an accent that sounded Asian, started talking about some supposed claim but insisted on asking me a few questions first. I replied that I needed her to put it down in writing. If a letter does arrive, I’ll be taking it straight to the authorities as I've never provided them with my address.

I've been inundated with calls from various places across the UK, none of which I have any ties to. I've even shot off a text pleading for them to cease the ringing, yet they persist in calling me. It’s becoming a daily nuisance at this point.

I chose not to pick up as I wasn't familiar with the number, and more often than not, it's either a scam or some persistent cold caller. I've since blocked the number, though I know all too well that these types have a myriad of different digits at their disposal.

I received one of those typical scam calls, claiming I had a pending claim. When I expressed my suspicion that it was a scam, the caller promptly hung up on me. It seems these fraudsters are just biding their time, waiting for you to pick up before launching into their spiel!

Well, this is a first for me! I just got a notification saying that I’m due to receive a letter about reclaiming £2500 due to overpaid interest. You’ll never guess, the first call today had my current address, but the second one, this one, was sent to my previous address. Honestly, the people reading the scripts for both calls were absolutely dreadful!
