Someone called saying they were from the citizen advice bureau and told me I owed money. When I asked how they got my info from the council, they said the FCA, the financial conduct authority, had run a check and passed on my details. They then pushed bankruptcy or an IVA as options. I questioned how the FCA could share my information given data protection rules, and after that, they just hung up. I tried ringing back but the line was just dead.
