Got a call earlier today from 01916287054. It began with an automated message claiming my IP address was at risk and that my connection would be cut off. Then I was transferred to someone pretending to be a BT engineer. He asked what gadgets I was using, I said “quite a few.” Next, he wanted to know if I was a business or just a home user, I said “just a home user.” After that, he just hung up on me. I’ve blocked the number and reported it to BT, who told me that they don’t have any engineers working from that number and said they’ll look into it.
