I got a call from this number about power outages and surges. It was right after I’d mentioned some issues with the electricity fluctuating.

I just ignored the call, didn’t think it was worth picking up.

Got a call pretending to be from my energy company. When I asked if it was Scottish Power, they said yes... which is totally wrong because I'm actually with Octopus. Pretty clear scam to me! I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming there was a power outage planned for our area on 25th June. But there wasn’t any blackout that day. The person said they were from NW Electricity. When I asked some proper questions and sounded a bit worried, they just hung up on me. The letter they mentioned was supposedly from GTC in Bury St. Edmunds.

I got a call from a survey firm asking about the service I got from SP Networks when we had that power cut last week. Sounded pretty legit to me. The number showed up as a Newcastle one and the person on the phone had a proper North-East accent, so I reckon it’s a real call and not some dodgy scam.

Twice they rang me up about a house I sold nearly 8 years back, saying there was a gas leak or something. I’ve blocked the number and put it down as a scam now.

The call came up as possible spam, so I didn't pick up. No voicemail was left, so I just went ahead and blocked the number.

When I picked up, nobody said a word. Pretty sure it was just one of those spam or scam calls.

Received a call from a lady with a foreign accent asking if I'd received a notice about power outages nearby. I told her I hadn’t. She said alright then and ended the call. I’ve blocked the number now.

The call ended as soon as my voicemail picked up - I usually have it on to avoid random calls from strangers. No message was left, which makes me think it was probably a scam.

Beware, got called by some dodgy electric company trying to get me to switch providers. Total scam, don’t fall for it!
