I received a call from an energy company wanting to discuss smart meters. Despite my clear disinterest, they kept pressing on. In the end, I decided to cut the conversation short and just hung up.

Similar to those annoying PPI and Accident Claim scammers from Manchester, this energy firm keeps calling various landlines around 0191.605.3760/2/3/5, probably trying to push gas and electricity deals. I never get far enough in the chat to be sure though. Every number they ring gets blocked straight away to stop the bother. If I work out who exactly they are next time, I’m reporting them to OFGEM properly. Honestly, why aren’t the regulators stepping in to halt these constant, annoying calls? What’s OFCOM even up to?

They’ve been calling me like 5 times each day every day this whole week.

They ring non-stop, loads of times each day. Whenever I pick up, I just let them blabber away with no response. Blocking them doesn’t work since they just switch to another number they've got handy. It's been quiet recently though. Maybe they’ve figured out they're wasting their money calling me, only getting to hear silence or weird noises from my side?

I often pick up calls from this number and there's just silence on the other side. But today a lady finally spoke, claiming to be from some sort of energy firm (couldn't quite make out the name because of her thick accent). She started asking if I had smart meters for my gas and electricity. I told her it wasn’t her concern and asked her to remove me from their calling list. Don’t know if they’ll actually do that though.
