I picked up and they just hung up straight away without saying a word! Total spam call.

I receive calls from this number almost every day. A few weeks back, I mentioned that I was currently without a permanent home, so whatever they were peddling wouldn’t be of any use to me. I ended up blocking their number, but much to my surprise, a week later they were at it again. I chose to ignore their attempts, and today they have tried to reach me once more. It seems likely they’re up to no good, posing as smart meter installers and fishing for personal details. They even went so far as to request my debit card information, which is quite alarming. I strongly advise you to steer clear of this caller - just block them, otherwise, they'll keep harassing you. I hope my experience serves as a warning for others.

This number keeps ringing me, first time they asked about my gas and electric meters, but I told them I didn't have any. They said sorry and hung up. Then a few days later, they called again saying they could help me save money since I pay by direct debit. I told them I'm fine with what I've got and ended the call.

01915805626 from Sunderland keeps ringing twice then just cuts off. I’ve blocked it, but then 01916719927 from North Shields started doing the same thing. Also 01916719914, also North Shields, just rings twice and ends call. I don’t pick up but they never leave a voicemail. I keep blocking but they just call again on different numbers. Proper annoying!

Pretty clear this was a scam. The lag and echo made it obvious it was coming from abroad, even though the number started with 0191, which is definitely a Tyneside code. Classic scam attempt. I played along with the caller for a bit until they realised I wasn’t interested and hung up. I reckon the best way to deal with these calls is to drain their time so it’s not worth their while anymore. Fingers crossed they find a proper job and actually do something useful for the community and the environment.

My missus picked up my phone cause I wasn’t free. Some bloke with a gruff voice asked for me by name. When she asked who it was, since I was out, he just hung up. Pretty obvious that was some sort of scam or telemarketer. I’ve blocked the number now. Clearly not smart enough for a legit job.
