I picked up and they just hung up straight away without saying a word! Total spam call.

They keep ringing me every single day. A few weeks back, I told them I’m homeless so there’s no way their offers would help me. After that, I blocked the number, but even a week later, they tried calling again. I just ignored it, and guess what, they called me again today. I reckon they’re dodgy smart meter fitters trying to scam you. They ask for all your details and even tried to get my debit card number. Don’t pick up if you get this call - just block it, or they’ll never give up. Hope this helps someone out there.

This number keeps ringing me, first time they asked about my gas and electric meters, but I told them I didn't have any. They said sorry and hung up. Then a few days later, they called again saying they could help me save money since I pay by direct debit. I told them I'm fine with what I've got and ended the call.

01915805626 from Sunderland keeps ringing twice then just cuts off. I’ve blocked it, but then 01916719927 from North Shields started doing the same thing. Also 01916719914, also North Shields, just rings twice and ends call. I don’t pick up but they never leave a voicemail. I keep blocking but they just call again on different numbers. Proper annoying!

Pretty clear this was a scam. The lag and echo made it obvious it was coming from abroad, even though the number started with 0191, which is definitely a Tyneside code. Classic scam attempt. I played along with the caller for a bit until they realised I wasn’t interested and hung up. I reckon the best way to deal with these calls is to drain their time so it’s not worth their while anymore. Fingers crossed they find a proper job and actually do something useful for the community and the environment.
