Got a call on 11th April 2018 from someone claiming to be HMRC, but it was clearly a scam.

Got a call on 11th April 2018 from someone saying they were from HMRC and bailiffs were on their way because I owed money. They told me to press 1 to speak to my case officer. I got another call later that day with the same message. The first one was from an international number. I also had a missed call the day before, 10th April, but it just showed no number. I reported everything and blocked them all.

Got a call saying it was from HMRC, claiming I'd got a warrant against me and to press 1 to talk to the officer handling my case. Complete rubbish as HMRC always sends letters, no calls. I’d actually checked my account with them the day before and got a letter that same day, so I didn’t press anything. These scammy calls came through on 10/4/18 with no number showing and then again on 11/4/18 at 6:08pm, when they accidentally showed their number. I’ve reported it all to Action Fraud. Don’t fall for it!

HMRC never ring you up, they only get in touch by sending letters. Anyone phoning you claiming to be them just wants your money. I always just politely tell them to get lost right away. Usually shuts them up pretty quick!
