Earlier today, my landline rang with a call from what seems to be a Sunderland area code. It was the 27th of November, 2019, if my memory serves me right. They left a rather dubious automated message on the answering machine, claiming that I’d won a whopping £500,000 in the Canadian lottery. They insisted that I ring 0013476699085 and reference some sort of number they provided. Naturally, I didn’t entertain the idea any further, but I thought it was important to bring this to your attention. What a right load of nonsense!
