Got a call from a woman up north, who used my first name. She was asking if I pay my gas and electricity by direct debit. I told her I wasn’t bothered and ended the call straight away.

Nowadays I just ignore any call from numbers I don’t know. It’s weird because I’m on the TPS list, yet these scam callers still get hold of my number so easily. I get around two calls daily from dodgy numbers and just block them straight away. Blocked this one today but bet they’ll ring from a different number tomorrow.

They began ringing me a couple days back. Got three calls yesterday and one earlier today. I dont pick up (which judging by the reviews probaly smart) and they never leave a voice message. Fingers crossed they’ll lose interest sooner or later. No clue how they even found my number since I rarely share it.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from Octopus Energy, she asked who my energy provider was. I said Scottish Gas and she wanted to know if I paid by direct debit, which I do. Then she asked for my email to check my account but when I said I didn't have one, she just ended the call.

Octopus Energy calling again? I kept telling the bloke I wasn’t interested, but he just wouldn’t let up. Ended up having to hang up on him. Then he rang back right away and called me a daft sod! I didn’t hold back and gave him a taste of his own medicine! Haha, another dodgy caller gets sorted!

Sounds like there's a chance someone from the US is using the Octopus Energy name without realising it's a UK firm. If you get a call from someone with an American accent chatting about Carbon Trading Permits, it's best to just decline.

They claimed they were from Octopus Energy, but that’s a load of rubbish! They were asking how long our contract with Octopus was and if we’d set up a direct debit! Proper cheek, like they thought I’d be daft enough to give them all my bank info to sort a direct debit! We get our energy from Octopus, and they never ring you - it's all done online or by email. The minute I said that, the bloke just lost the will to keep talking. This definitely isn’t Octopus Energy. These people are scammers, plain and simple.

Got a call from this number earlier today, but the bloke on the other end was really unpleasant, and he hadn’t even got to the point of what he was selling. I ended the call straight away. Fingers crossed they don’t bother me again, though something tells me they will!
