They asked me to press 1 or 2 to confirm. When I rang back the number, which was local, I ended up speaking to a guy who organises stag and hen dos. He sounded really rattled and confused that his number was being linked to what clearly sounded like a scam. He said he’d had a few similar calls and planned on contacting his phone provider about it.
