19 daysTotal scam. They said my energy prices are going up, but I’m on a fixed deal. Claimed they partner with my energy supplier but wouldn’t say which one. Felt very dodgy to me.20 daysMy phone showed the number was linked to a scam, so I just ignored it and didn’t pick up.20 daysI've been getting loads of scam calls from this number, it’s really frustrating. The phone companies seriously need to find a solution to block these kinds of calls properly.21 daysThey didn’t bother telling me who it was, so I wasn’t keen on getting involved in the call at all.21 daysPerson purporting to be from Energy Help, with ‘information’ from Ofgem. They knew who my energy provider was; and asked a bunch of questions about our electricity type, plus how much we pay. (Did not give second piece of information). They then proceeded to tell me I am paying too much, and am ineligible for a certain amount of hours at a lesser cost per day per week. When I asked to confirm whether I was ineligible, or eligible, he kept saying I was illegible. When I replied that meant I couldn’t have it (did not want to get into it meaning anything about my writing), he proceeded to lecture me about the meaning of the word and arguing with me about it. He then argued with me about why I would call my energy supplier to discuss tariffs with them and listed 3 energy companies who would be cheaper. I hung up and have blocked the number.EnergyOfgem22 daysSomeone called saying they were from ‘Energy Help UK’ or something along those lines (can’t quite recall the exact name). They mentioned that our energy bill was going to rise and asked if we'd received any letters from our provider about it. They did get the name of our supplier right, but claimed the details came straight from Ofgem, which I’m pretty sure isn’t true as they don’t just hand out that kind of info. Eventually, I had to just hang up because they wouldn’t stop going on.Energy Help UKOfgem22 daysJust got a call from someone saying they're from Go Compare about prices for gas. Funny thing is, I don’t even have gas connected at my place! Bit confusing if you ask me.22 daysI just got a call and didn’t say a word. Definitely sounded like a scam.22 daysGot a call from someone saying they were from Go Compare. He kept insisting he wasn’t trying to sell me anything, but then went on about how my energy rates at my previous place were set to increase by £300. Tried telling him I wasn’t interested but he just wouldn’t stop, kept pushing the whole “not selling” line. Really annoying.Go Compare22 daysGot two missed calls from the same number on my CallGuard phone, but it never actually rang. Pretty sure it’s another phishing attempt or some scam. Had a look here and decided to block it straight away.CallGuard22 daysA number I didn't recognise called me but I didn’t pick up.22 daysGot a call on my Android, and it flagged it as probably a scam. Didn’t even pick up, just blocked and deleted it straight away.Submit Your Own Report (0191 464 7828)
