I received a call from an individual with an Indian accent, who was quite persuasive in claiming that my internet security had been breached by overseas users. He asserted he was affiliated with BT and even provided the address of their headquarters. He went so far as to give me various codes to verify who might be accessing my connection. However, as he pressed me for my email address, I grew increasingly wary. I asked him for his phone number to reach back, which he provided as: 0205 438 4187. Upon contacting BT, they assured me it was a scam. Please, be cautious and don't grant them access to your computer - I foolishly did so and now need to make sure they haven't installed any malicious software.

I received a dubious call from someone claiming that my internet had been compromised by outside sources. They warned me that my connection would be terminated within ten minutes unless I performed some checks while using a tablet or a similar device. I asked him to communicate all the relevant information directly to my BT account, so I could verify it myself. Rather abruptly, he reiterated the threat of disconnection in ten minutes and then hung up. I could tell right away that he was certainly not affiliated with BT or any legitimate advisory service.
