Got a call saying my IP address was being used all over the place, supposedly in loads of different countries. They told me to press 1 to fix it. Total scam, obviously.

Got a call from a guy and a woman pretending to be from BT. They kept going on about hackers trying to get into our internet. Felt off from the start. They told me to ring a different number later. Checked both numbers here and yeah, they look pretty suspicious.

Like what others have said, I've been getting these calls from some robot sounding woman called 'Shirley' with a Yank accent, warning me my internet's been hacked. They hit me up about twice a day now. The annoying part is they change the phone number each time using some dodgy software, so today it was a number from around Tyneside. Really wish the cops could track these lot down and put a stop to it!

Got a call with that same American accent saying my computer’s been hacked or something. Heard this one a few times already, so I just cut them off and blocked the number straight away.

Got a recorded message from someone called Shirley at BT saying my internet was under threat. It’s so frustrating that people just trying to get on with their day are being hassled by these kinds of calls. Why do the regulators let this keep going on? Would like some proper explanations.

I got a call from someone who said she was Shirley from BT, claiming my internet ID was at risk. She said she could assign me a new one if I pressed 1. Curious, I did press 1 and got put through straight away to a bloke with an Asian accent. I told him I thought it was a scam since I’ve never even used BT before. He just hung up right away. So yeah, it was definitely a con. This happened at around 10:40 in the morning on 20/09/2018.

Just got a call like that not long ago. The person on the other end had an American accent and claimed my internet was going to get cut off soon. It sounded fishy since it was a recorded message, so I ended the call right away. Then, I searched up the number online and found out it’s a known scam.

Avoid this! Got a recorded call claiming my IP was hacked “by multiple countries” and told to press 1. Don’t get involved with these scammers!

Got the same rubbish about my internet being hacked, just like others have said here. They must have loads of numbers because every time I block one, they pop up again from somewhere else - like today, starting with 0191. Seriously, how do they even know I use a computer? My best trick is to let the call ring till my answerphone picks up. As soon as these lot hear my recorded voice, they hang up and don’t bother leaving any message.

Oh come on, "Internet been compromised"? Sounds like a total con to me! If you do what they say, you'll probably end up ringing some expensive premium rate line. And get this - it's just some automated voice, so you can't even have a proper go at them! What a joke.

I got a call warning me that my internet was going to be disconnected. I just ended the call and definitely didn't press any buttons. This sort of thing is terrible, these folks really need to be put to a stop.

Got a call from someone saying our internet was hacked and she's here to fix it. Bit weird since we had this same "Shirley" ring us yesterday too, but from two other numbers 01702295559. Obviously, we didn't fall for it. Just thought I'd warn others about this, so please spread the word!

Got a call from some bloke saying my internet was going to get switched off. I didn't even bother pressing any buttons, just ended the call straight away. This kind of thing is proper rubbish, they really need to be put to a stop.

sounds like one of those dodgy calls like all the others, could be risky too. I reckon they might try to get me onto a premium number, then coax me into giving info that could put my computer at risk.

I don’t know if they reckon I’m daft or what, but they keep saying my internet will be disconnected soon unless I get connected to their tech team. Of course, the number they want you to call is a premium line, so it’ll cost an arm and a leg. Most likely they’re just after my card details to nick my savings. This week they've rang me at least four times, each time warning my internet is at risk. Sometimes they say I’ve got just an hour to fix it, other times like today they said 24 to 48 hours. When I asked if they were with BT, they just hung up. Don’t answer calls from these lot, it’s dodgy for sure.

Got a robo call warning me my internet would be cut off in a couple of hours. They said to press 1 to chat with an engineer who’d fix it at no cost. I asked if they had my name and address since it felt dodgy, then they just ended the call on me!
