BT are honestly the worst at this! They keep letting these scam calls go through nonstop. It's like they're profiting off all the nuisance. Sure, they might give you a call blocker, which seems alright, but then they go ahead and sell the number to scammers anyway. It's mostly these calls from Asians, Indians, or whatever, pretending to have no jobs just to cheat universal credit, isn't it? Feels like we're spot on calling them out!

01914148212 - obviously an autodialer - whenever I answer it just hangs up straight away. I don’t say anything, just let it ring a bit, if there’s a real person they usually say something but this just ends the call silently. From what I’ve read on Ofcom, these silent calls happen because the system thinks you’re an answering machine and drops the call without any message or noise. Easy fix for me is just to block the number.

Got calls almost daily from a bloke named Ryan, says he’s with Uniplus Telecom. Keeps pestering us to change our phone deal. Weirdly, he wanted me to sign up without even giving me the full terms or prices to look at first. Had a quick look on Companies House and that business looks like it’s losing loads of money. Wouldn’t touch them if I were you!

Absolute nonsense, said I’d be able to cut costs on my business phone line. It’s actually a personal number, not a business one. I hung up and blocked the number, but they keep ringing back non stop. Avoid if you can!

Got a call from what seemed like my phone supplier chatting about tariffs, sounded a bit dodgy to me.

I’ve had calls from loads of different numbers, all pretty cheap sounding. The caller kept insisting they knew which company I was with, but when I told them I wasn’t with that firm, they just kept saying I was. They always asked for my email details but never sent anything through. It felt like they wanted me to do things right away. When I questioned why they kept using different phone numbers, they just denied it.

Think he forgot the UK time difference and reckoned it was arvo here, but it was only 11 in the morning. When I questioned the number, he just hung up on me. Definitely one of those scams.

Got a call from a guy who said his name was Eric, but yeah right! Loads of noise in the background like some busy call centre full of Asian voices. He was asking if I was the business owner, but it’s just another irritating scam about my BT line - though I’m not even with BT! Total waste of time.
