Heads up, this is defo a scam, don’t pick up and just block it if you get a call from them. I never answered but after seeing what others said, looks like this UK international insurance lot try running a credit check on you just from your phone number. It happened to me, so I reported it to the credit reference agency straight away. These dodgy people use numbers that aren’t even theirs, be careful!

Got a call from someone with a thick Indian accent who even managed to mess up how my name’s spelt. Proper annoying call, ended up just hanging up on me.

Got a call from 0191 388 2317 but as soon as I picked up, they hung up straight away. Strange.

This number rang me again after the first time, when the caller wouldn’t say who they were. Eventually, they said something about ‘UK international’ with a strong Indian accent. I ended the call quickly without messing about. Later, the same bloke - calling himself ‘David’ though I’m sure that’s not his real name - ring me back just to have a go at me for being rude, giving me a long-winded sermon on proper behaviour. Then, out of nowhere, he just hung up on me.

Seems to me like this was some kind of automated check to figure out if my number was active, probably before they start bombarding me with annoying calls.

Got a call from a guy in India working at a call centre, asking about selling stuff. I ended up giving him a quick rundown on GDPR rules and then just cut the call off.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent, said they wanted me to do a survey but then tried to sell me stuff. If you get a call from 1572 and you’re with BT, pick up and then block the number straight away to stop them calling again.
