Got a call from this bloke with a posh accent, sounded proper fake, saying he was sorting out our environmental levy refund. Claimed he’d reached out to us loads of times already - total con. Didn’t hang about, just ended the call straight away.

Some bloke called himself Ian and claimed to be from a firm named Kudos. He was asking to chat with the director about some sort of climate levy refund. He also said he’d talked to our director a bunch of times, even giving specific dates. Thing is, our director doesn’t even work at this office, and every call to him comes through me first. I called him out on it before I just hung up.

Got a call from some annoying bloke spouting rubbish about a follow-up for someone at my company. He kept insisting he wasn’t getting the name from Companies House, but that’s clearly where he’d found it. The odd thing is, the person he was after has never even stepped foot in our office! He was babbling on about some massive tax refund linked to energy savings or something. Total scam, don’t trust it!

A man with an English accent called, saying he was from British Gas. He said it was just a routine check to see how things were going and mentioned something about my contract expiring in about six months to a year (I’m not too sure about the details for me). He wanted to talk to the manager or whoever handles the account. He was saying that energy firms are outsourcing jobs currently and using guesses for bills, mentioning a figure like 222. He asked if anyone was home during the UK's second lockdown. We ended the chat with him saying he’d call back next week.
