Precisely the same scenario as stated previously. They seemed to acknowledge that we had a conversation with our bank not long ago, yet insisted on withholding the name of the institution that was attempting to contact us, citing data protection regulations. I ended the call abruptly. Afterward, I reached out to my bank’s security team, and they confirmed that a) this was entirely unrelated to the bank b) no legitimate bank would ever hesitate to confirm their identity when making inquiries c) it’s unheard of for a bank to ask for personal details over an unsolicited call.

We found ourselves in a similar predicament, seeking the same details as previously mentioned. Given that I'm a project manager at Lloyds, I’m particularly keen to gather every bit of information regarding the individual in question. I plan to escalate this matter to our fraud investigation team for proper scrutiny. It's worth noting that no reputable bank would ever request you to confirm your bank details over the phone.

I recently received a call from someone asking for our banking information. I would advise against trusting these individuals-do not share any personal details with them. They were rather vague about which bank they were representing, which raises a red flag for me. Just stay cautious!

Absolutely, it’s definitely the loan department of Lloyds TSB. To be honest, I doubt these individuals can divulge any specifics, given the constraints of Data Protection laws. It ends up being quite the nonsensical conversation, where there’s a lot of back-and-forth, yet no real answers to be had. Quite reminiscent of personal relationships, don’t you think?

I had a rather similar experience, where a young lady claimed to be from "MY Bank". She mentioned that she couldn’t disclose the name of our bank due to security protocols, which struck me as a tad suspicious. She insisted on asking us some security questions linked to a call we received three days prior. We decided to end the conversation promptly. Just to be safe, we reached out to Lloyds TSB for their take on the matter. They confirmed without hesitation that 01913357000 has no association with their establishment and emphasised that no legitimate representative would ever request personal security details over the phone. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

I received a call from this number claiming to be my bank, stating they needed to confirm some personal information. I replied, how can you expect me to trust you when I don't even know who you are, and you refuse to identify which bank you're representing? They insisted on starting with my date of birth. I firmly declined.

My spouse picked up a rather distressing phone call claiming to be from "The Bank," demanding her particulars without so much as verifying who they were. To say the least, it was a rather surly and brusque return call from TSB.

This number belongs to the loans division of Lloyds TSB; it's legitimate, not a scam.

As GFT mentioned, it's indeed a branch associated with Lloyds TSB that deals with loans.

Received a call on Sunday, 9th May 2009, from someone named Paula Henry claiming to be from the bank. They were inquiring about when we would be available. We asked which bank they were representing, but they refused to divulge that information. They persisted in asking about our availability, and we firmly replied that they had dialled the wrong number.

We've just experienced this ourselves. It's absolutely unrelated to LloydsTSB, so definitely don’t share any information with them!

The other day, I received a rather peculiar phone call from a number claiming to be Brian from my bank, wanting to verify details about my partner. I didn't divulge anything-my approach was firm; I told them that if they were indeed from my bank, they should be able to offer me some of my own information first. In the end, they handed me a customer support number, 08008961282, which was frankly, just a load of nonsense. I can't stress this enough-never share any of your personal details over the phone when someone calls you out of the blue!

Received a call this evening claiming to be from 'the bank'. I inquired about which bank it was, as they were asking for some security information. However, the chap on the line insisted we had to clear some security checks first before he could reveal that. Since he was being so vague about the bank's identity, I decided to decline the request. He then mentioned that we'd be getting a letter from them instead. Honestly, it would have been amusing to tell them our security password is 'con artist'!

Absolutely spot on! It seems like it might be linked to the bank, but honestly, if they were a legitimate representative, why on earth would they ask you to divulge sensitive information to someone you don’t even know? It’s a definite red flag! Never hand out your personal details over the phone to anyone - just steer clear!

Had a call earlier claiming to be from "your bank," inquiring if they could speak to a certain Mr David -------. When we probed for the name of the bank, all we got was, "your bank." Naturally, we pressed on for some clear identification of our purported bank, and he simply quipped, "But you know your bank, don’t you?" Well, by that point, we were absolutely fed up and let him know it was apparent he hadn’t a clue about us or our banking situation. Then, as if on cue, he abruptly hung up! What a surprise! Honestly, everyone, stay vigilant out there!

Absolutely the same as the previous comment. It might be from the bank, but honestly, if it were legit, would they really ask you to disclose sensitive details to random callers? Absolutely not! So, for heaven's sake, keep your personal information to yourself and don’t share it with anyone you don’t know!

We decided to give this call a miss, as it looks like a dodgy number that’s been charging your phone bill! From what I've gathered from the comments here, it certainly smells like a scam. They rang us shortly after two in the afternoon, probably thinking we'd be in a post-lunch slump and easy to catch off guard??? Absolute cheek!

Absolutely, it's just like I mentioned earlier-don't divulge any details to them!
