Really handy service! My mother-in-law is quite old and was nervous about picking up the phone since she didn’t know the number. Luckily, I found the info here, it was from Durham NHS Trust. Much appreciated!

This is indeed an authentic contact for the hospital. Since it serves as a central line, there's no option to return the call. The person reaching out will provide their direct number for you to ring back and sort out any appointments.

Anticipating a call regarding my dermatology appointment at UHND - the number appears to be unlisted. It could potentially be a direct dial in connection with the department.

I had a missed call that I decided to look up, and it turned out to be linked to Durham hospital. I’m a bit baffled, to be honest, as I have no dealings with the hospital or any of its departments at the moment. I chose not to pick up or return the call.

We had no clue that the initial digits of the number we received belong to a hospital in Durham. Does anyone have an idea of who might have reached out?

I received a missed call from this number and promptly dialled it back. An automated voice asked me to specify the ward or department I was trying to reach. Assuming it was related to ward 33, given that my mother has recently been admitted to hospital, I stated that. The line then began to ring, but the automated voice returned to inform me that all lines were currently busy and inquired if I wished to remain on hold. I agreed initially, but then changed my mind and opted to cancel. The voice then repeated its request for the ward or department details. At that point, I decided to hang up. Upon trying again a few minutes later, the call wouldn’t connect at all - it simply cut off. After several unsuccessful attempts, I turned to Google and stumbled upon this blog.

Received a call today, and I promptly returned it after rejecting it. When I picked up, I didn’t hear anything at first-just a prolonged silence. Eventually, a woman’s voice greeted me with a “hello,” but then the line dropped out. (This might be due to shoddy internet connection at our place!) The number appears to be from Durham and bears a resemblance to the North Tees Hospital Trust number, differing only in the last three digits. Has anyone got an idea about who this might be?

I’m left scratching my head as to how they managed to obtain my details, considering I’ve never shared my number with anyone! It’s rather frustrating, to say the least.

I had no clue what to say when I got the call, just a blank, then it just hung up! What’s that all about? Really confusing.
