I've had the same thing happen loads of times. They keep ringing asking for a Mrs Hartley, which isn’t me at all. I don’t really reply to their questions, instead I ask who they are and where they got my number from. Then I make it clear that the person isn’t at this number, that I’m signed up with the TPS, and tell them to remove my details from their list. After that, I report them to ico.org.uk so they can look into it. It’s really frustrating and takes up a lot of time, but honestly, those selling people’s info illegally should face consequences.

Worst move you can make is to pick up because it just confirms to the caller that your number’s legit, and then they sell it around to every dodgy spammer out there. What works for me is telling my close mates to ring me, let it ring a few times - and then just hang up. If I get a missed call, I ring 1471 to find out who it was. If it’s someone I know, I’ll call back. For the unknown ones with endless rings, I jot the number down and google it to see which scammer’s trying their luck. There’s this firm called ‘Way of Like’ or something similar that keeps ringing us loads every week! They don’t exactly try to sell anything but ask loads of personal stuff. Then they say we’ll just get calls about things we’re interested in. My mum ended up answering them even though I told her not to. I cannot tell you how utterly exasperated I am with these incessant phone calls. They’re driving me absolutely bonkers! It feels like we’ve kept the landline solely for these nasty callers to trample all over my privacy multiple times a day. Earlier this evening, I reached my breaking point and unleashed a torrent of shouting and cursing, demanding that he cease calling and just hang up. Wouldn’t you know, he rang me back straight away and harassed me every time I tried to cut the line-returning every swear word that I hurled his way. The only time he finally let up was when he decided he’d had his revenge. Truly vile behaviour! I just received a call from this number. When I picked up, they abruptly disconnected. They then called again and a chap with a foreign accent was on the line.

I picked up the phone and was met with a foreign accent asking for details about my cable or Sky provider. I kindly declined to share any info, and then he ominously warned me that I'd be inundated with more annoying calls from that number if I didn’t cooperate. I made it clear that I'd take action if he persisted.

Lately, I've been inundated with calls from this number, pestering me for a survey. I went along with their questions but didn’t actually provide them with any accurate details. Today, I got a rather peculiar call from an insurance firm, claiming that my policy was due to expire on my Sky box. I promptly told them that my Sky box is brand new, having been acquired last August. The caller mentioned they'd take note of that and promised to ring me back come August, so I suppose I'll just have to prepare myself for their return!

Honestly, it’s quite absurd! I’ve been bombarded with five, six, or even more calls at a time, and there are various other numbers cropping up too. Occasionally, I'll get two or three calls from the same number when I hit 1471 to check.

I got a call at 19:45 on the 29th of May, 2015, and when I picked up, they just dropped the line without saying a single thing. It’s quite frustrating, especially since I’m on the no-call list. Surely, there must be something that can be done to put a stop to these nuisance calls?

An incessant nuisance, ringing through at least three or four times daily, even during the night. The calls seem to be originating from an Indian number. Despite our repeated pleas to be removed from their calling list, our requests have fallen on deaf ears. This ordeal has been dragging on for approximately three to four weeks now.
