I've had the same thing happen loads of times. They keep ringing asking for a Mrs Hartley, which isn’t me at all. I don’t really reply to their questions, instead I ask who they are and where they got my number from. Then I make it clear that the person isn’t at this number, that I’m signed up with the TPS, and tell them to remove my details from their list. After that, I report them to ico.org.uk so they can look into it. It’s really frustrating and takes up a lot of time, but honestly, those selling people’s info illegally should face consequences.

This number just rang me up, but I never answer unknown calls. Worst move you can make is to pick up because it just confirms to the caller that your number’s legit, and then they sell it around to every dodgy spammer out there. What works for me is telling my close mates to ring me, let it ring a few times - and then just hang up. If I get a missed call, I ring 1471 to find out who it was. If it’s someone I know, I’ll call back. For the unknown ones with endless rings, I jot the number down and google it to see which scammer’s trying their luck. Honestly, 90-95% of those calls are just nonsense. Sometimes I wish there was a way to just dump all these time-wasters on a distant planet and be done with them. Caller: anonymous

this indian bloke kept bugging me with loads of questions, i asked him to quit calling but he said he’d only remove me from the list once i’d done the survey. i told him i’d report the company, but he kept saying he couldn’t take me off the list without my details. so i just told him to piss off.

There’s this firm called ‘Way of Like’ or something similar that keeps ringing us loads every week! They don’t exactly try to sell anything but ask loads of personal stuff. Then they say we’ll just get calls about things we’re interested in. My mum ended up answering them even though I told her not to. For once I actually picked up to find out who kept ringing me. The bloke said he wasn’t trying to sell me anything but kept asking loads of questions. He promised I wouldn’t get any more calls if I said no. Near the end he claimed I’d only get calls from things I was interested in. I got fed up and when he asked if that was alright, I said no way! He asked again so I told him no, I just wouldn’t bother answering next time. He kept repeating the same question, so I just told him I was hanging up and did exactly that. I picked up my home phone just after two in the afternoon, and some bloke from overseas was on the line. He claimed to be from "way of life" or summat like that. He said, "I’m not selling anything, ma’am, just need to ask a few questions, and I won’t bother you again." I wasn’t having it - told him I’d heard that line before and it’s all rubbish! Email sent to the TPS on 4th June 2015 at 3:05pm I received a phone call today on my home phone from the number 0191 308 0362. The gentleman asked for me using my maiden name, but when I told him that wasn’t correct and that my surname isn’t 'Cope', he demanded my full name. I asked him where he was calling from and why he was contacting me. He claimed to be from the TPS. I gave him the name Vanessa Carmichael, and he accused me of lying, threatening to add my details to a list that would result in me getting ‘hundreds of calls a day’. He became quite aggressive, so I ended the call. Could you please confirm if this was a genuine call from your organisation? Such intimidating behaviour has left me feeling very upset. This number has been ringing me quite a bit asking me to take part in a survey. I answered but decided not to be totally honest with the info I gave. Then today, someone from an insurance company called me, saying my insurance on my sky box had expired. I told them my sky box is fairly new, got it last August. The person said he'd make a note of that and promised to call me back in August so I can be ready then.

I got a call from this number and ended up doing some kind of survey with a guy from India. He spoke really quickly, and I barely caught what he said. I'm a bit worried I might have shared more about myself than I should have, although I was careful not to give any bank info.

Got a very annoying call earlier. The person asked if I was Mr ...... then said he was Alex. Claimed he wasn’t trying to sell anything but just dropped the call right as I answered. Don’t really get what they were after.

I got a call from some random person asking for my relatives. As soon as I said I didn’t know anyone by that name, they just ended the call.

Its just mad how i keep getting 5 or 6 calls a day, sometimes even more! And its not just one number, there are loads. Sometimes the same number rings me 2 or 3 times in a row, checked on 1471 and its the same caller!

At 7:45pm on 29/05/15 I got a call and as soon as I picked up, the line went dead with no one speaking. It's really annoying when people call even though I've signed up to block these sorts of calls. Is there no way to stop this from happening?

Got calls from them a few times, all they do is say "Hello, hello," and when I answer, the call just cuts off. Bit paranoid, but feels like they’re checking the place out or something. Honestly, these annoying calls are really getting on my nerves.

They call non stop, like three or four times daily at any time, day or night. Always someone with an Indian accent. We've asked them to stop and remove us from their calling list, but nothing changes. This has been happening for about a month now.
