I’ve had this dodgy number ring me loads of times, and every time I pick up and stay quiet, the call just gets cut off. It’s obviously some automated system that hangs up if there’s no agent available - typical call centre nonsense. Since I can’t block the number on my phone, I just add them to my contacts under a name like 'scammy lot'. That way, when it shows on my phone, I know straight away to not bother answering. They also try to trick you by using a local area code to make it look legit. Complete con artists - best thing is to just ignore them altogether.

So, this guy rang me on a Saturday afternoon, already knew my name and started asking loads about my pension - like who manages it and how much it’s worth. He was keen on doing a “free review” but insisted I sign some documents first which they’d send over and get picked up by a courier! Honestly, it felt dodgy to me, so I’m just going to leave it alone. That’s not to say some companies aren’t legit with free reviews though, just watch out who you trust with your info.

They started talking about a pension and then just cut me off without another word.

They asked me some stuff about my pension but then just dropped the call. Weirdly, they actually knew my name.

Got a call about some pension scheme I supposedly had but had closed. I kinda gave in and said yeah, I had one. Then it hit me they were just trying to get my details - I could hear him jotting stuff down. I told him I was fine leaving it closed since I’m already in a new pension. After that, the guy got really short with me and hung up without saying goodbye. No one rings up just to help you without wanting something in return.

This number keeps ringing up, asking for a person who isn’t even at this address. We’ve told them to stop calling us, but they just won’t quit. It’s been happening for ages now.
