I received a rather peculiar automated call today, claiming to be from BT, stating that my phone line was at risk of being disconnected. They urged me to press 1 to connect with a representative or 2 to proceed with the termination process. Naturally, I chose to ignore their prompts, and the call was over in a flash. I can’t shake the feeling that this was merely a sneaky tactic to check if my number is still active for some dodgy scheme. Alternatively, had I pressed either button, I'm almost certain I would have ended up speaking to some sort of con artist. Quite baffling, really!
