Given that it turned out to be a number generated by a computer, it could really be anything at all. I've made the decision to stop answering calls from any number that doesn't have a caller ID I recognise. And to be honest, even some of those I still find myself ignoring if they seem a bit dodgy or don’t add up.

I received a call from this number, but when I picked up, there was complete silence on the other end. Given that it was a local number, I decided to return the call. However, I was greeted by a recorded message asserting that the number is no longer in service. Quite puzzling, isn't it? How could it ring me in the first place if that were the case?
