Got a call on my mobile from this number. I’ve only shared my number with mates I trust, so bit suspicious. Just a heads up about 0191 249 8653.

I picked up and there was silence for a few moments. Then a woman spoke, using my first name, claiming she was ringing from the Hearing Clinic in Durham, even though the phone number showed it was from Newcastle / North Tyneside. She started quizzing me about if I had ever used loud machinery at work. I told her I never have, but she insisted "our records say otherwise". I told her it felt like a scam call. She replied it wasn’t, saying she wasn’t asking for any bank info, and offered to take my number off their list if I wanted.

At least she gave a company name, but it definitely felt like an unsolicited cold call.

Everytime I try to ring back those numbers, it tells me they’re out of service. Yet, they keep ringing me nonstop! So annoying.

Didn't bother staying on the line for long, this bloke was spouting a load of rubbish about some hearing loss claim or whatever. I just ended the call straight away.

Some woman rang up asking for my hubby, said she was calling from a hearing clinic and that she’d sent him a letter. She said they’d call again, but nah, I’ve blocked the number already - no chance! Haha.

Got a call from some woman talkin' proper Yorkshire, said she was from a hearing loss company or summat like that. Sounded a bit dodgy to me, like maybe one of those scams trying to get info. Didn’t really trust it, so I just hung up. Seems like they’re plannin’ to pull a fast one with callers pretendin’ to be helpful but really just up to no good.

I got a call from a woman who said she was from some Industrial Assessment Centre. She wanted to talk to me by name and was trying to set up a hearing test. She mentioned she’d sent a letter to my old address on XXXXX Street - which is odd since I don’t live there anymore. Bit suspicious if you ask me...
