Received a call the other day concerning the arrangement of a hearing assessment. The woman on the line spoke with a distinctly thick Yorkshire accent and mentioned that my information had been forwarded to them from a former job, supposedly in a noisy setting. She didn’t mention the name of the employer and questioned whether this seemed accurate to me. She claimed they’d dispatched a letter to me a few weeks prior, which I never received. She even rattled off my street name but failed to provide a door number. She assured me that another letter would be sent out and stated that once we hung up, someone else would ring to gather my information again in order to have it sent out. It felt suspiciously like they were trying to fish for my personal details, given they only had the most rudimentary information. It could potentially relate to some sort of claim for hearing issues arising from inadequate PPE provided by employers, without my knowledge of it. Just be wary, folks!

Got a random phone call that said it was from North Shields, but I didn’t pick it up. Had a look here and didn’t see any other mentions of that number. Tried ringing back and got a voicemail saying the call might be recorded, telling me to hang up if I’m not happy with that.
