Its so annoying when you get calls and no one says anything, just ends it. They always seem to come when youre busy or not ready. Proper annoying!

I received a call I hadn’t asked for. A right set of chancers claiming to sort out compensation for industrial hearing loss, you know the type-no win, no fee. They insisted they had my details from a supposed job as some type of heavy plant operator, but when I pressed them, they wouldn’t reveal who had passed my info on. I kindly informed them they were mistaken (though it was a fib, it really wasn’t their concern), and mentioned that I’m now enjoying my retirement. The cheeky lady then had the gall to ask what I used to do for a living! I shot back that I was a professional ‘Muff Diver’ before hanging up on the nosy bugger.

This morning, I received a rather peculiar phone call from a woman inquiring about my husband, using only his first name. When I enquired who was on the line, she bluntly stated, “The Hearing Centre Durham.” I informed her that he had never utilised their services, to which she retorted, “I didn’t say he had. Is he available?” I then conveyed the unfortunate news of his passing before Christmas, and she curtly replied, “Well, I didn’t know that, did I?” Her tone was quite offhand and had a hint of a Manchester accent, I believe. I attempted to research The Hearing Centre to file a complaint, but it seems that a multitude of opticians in Durham are conveniently labelling themselves as a centre for hearing tests. Quite baffling, really!

Received a call from this number, but I chose not to pick up - I tend to steer clear of unknown callers. They didn’t bother to leave a message either.

I picked up a call from this number, only for it to disconnect right away. Curious, I tried ringing back, but all I got was a voice saying the number’s not in service. Quite odd, I must say!
