I reckon they’d just gone on Companies House, looked up the director’s name, and then acted like they already knew him. Classic sales pitch trying to push stuff you don’t actually need. Best to steer clear of these lot.

Some bloke rang claiming he was part of BT’s phone migration team. He tried pushing this new internet phone system on us, saying the old PSTN lines are getting switched off by the year’s end. He clearly didn’t have a clue about the actual details and was spouting loads of wrong stuff to scare us into buying something unnecessary. Definitely not a genuine BT rep - he sounded clueless throughout. Most likely just a scammy sales outfit hoping to con people by feeding them lies. Best to ignore or hang up, unless you want to get stung.

They ring up saying they’re from BT and chat about your internet phone setup. Pretty sure they’ve dug up your name from some official company list and then act like they actually know you. Just a sales pitch for stuff you probably don’t want - best steer clear.
