Got a call from this number earlier today, no message left. Think it’s a scam or just some annoying spam? Would it be best to just block it? What’s everyone’s take?

i wanted to know where they found my number since ive NEVER signed up anywhere. the only way they can get my number is by buying stolen lists or data, maybe from the talk talk hack a while back. they just mumbled something. i told them cold calling is supposed to be 'illegal' now so why are they ringing me? more mumbling and they just hung up.

No idea really.

It’s so frustrating how they keep ringing me even though I’m no longer a member. Finding out it was the Labour Party behind the calls kind of explains it, but I just wish it would stop already.

Picked up the phone and could hear a voice but then they just disconnected. After reading other comments, could be the Labour Party as we ended our membership for several reasons. Still, why bother calling only to cut off? Proper frustrating.

They keep ringing me during really odd times and never leave a voicemail. If this really is the Labour Party like this site says, then they’re blatantly ignoring my official quit notice and all the times I’ve asked them in writing to take me off their call list. It’s pretty frustrating.

It rang twice and when I picked up there was no one on the line. This is the third time today I’ve gotten calls like this, not from this exact number but from three different ones in just an hour and a half! Proper annoying and frustrating! If it’s the Labour Party trying to contact me, they’re wasting their breath as I’m dead set behind Brexit!

Looks like these calls are meant for our son. He used to be part of the Labour Party but now he's working over in China. I really wish they'd just stop ringing us.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the Labour Party about some overpayment under my name. The guy was quite polite and didn’t take long. He clearly explained why I was owed money and what info he needed from me.

If it’s the Labour party calling, I’m quite alright with that. I used to be a member myself, but I haven’t bothered renewing as, despite being a loyal Labour voter for years, I just can’t get behind how they’re running things now. What really annoys me though is they keep ringing up and when I actually answer, there’s no one there at all, even if I pick up straight away. To me, that’s basically harassment.

It was 7 in the evening, so I just let it ring out. Later I looked it up online and turns out it’s just some spam caller.

Quit the Labour Party since they kept asking for more cash, and honestly, being greedy just causes most of the world's troubles.

They've been ringing me the last couple of evenings and honestly, I’m fed up with all the Labour phone calls. I definitely won’t be renewing my membership with them. Plus, I keep getting loads of emails too, which I just bin straight into my Spam folder now.

Just got a call, really annoying especially in the evening. The Labour Party must be really desperate to be bothering people like this!

They ring me at exactly the same time every single day. It’s been going on for weeks now. So annoying!

They called me again on 21/11/17 at exactly the usual time, 5:10 pm. I told them we don’t want any more calls or emails from the Labour party or their call centres. The person on the phone said they'd note it down, but I’m not holding my breath. If they keep ringing, I’m gonna have to go public with this, contact my Local Labour MP, and even get the newspapers involved.

We've told the Labour Party and their call centres time and again to stop getting in touch with us, and we've even unsubscribed from their emails loads of times. But still, they keep ringing us up and ignoring our clear 'no thanks'. It's so annoying how they just won't respect our wishes!

Labour gets their info from the Electoral Register, which is totally legal for all parties to use during campaigns. If you don't want your phone number or name on there, you need to ask to have it taken off by contacting your local Council’s Electoral Services. Also, because of updated Data Protection laws, when Labour calls, the number that shows up is usually from their Regional Office or HQ, so if you try to ring back, you end up speaking to the party rather than a specific person.

Just had another member quit the Labour Party, these calls are pure harassment. It’s 19:55 and I’m fed up with constantly telling them to take my details off their list and stopping their emails. If more folks did what I did, maybe they’d realise annoying their own supporters isn’t smart at all.

Labour kept ringing me even after I told them to stop and blocked their number, it’s proper annoying. I’m so fed up I’ve quit my membership and won’t be voting for them anymore. If loads of folks do this, they might finally wake up. Bothering your own supporters isn’t the smartest move.

0191 246 5061 Just discovered this is the Labour Party’s Subscriber Service number. I don’t even subscribe to their stuff yet they keep ringing me non stop. They must see from their records i always vote Labour, so why the bother? Honestly, i doubt they’d do anything to stop cold calls even if they got into power. If they call again, i’m definitely reporting them to the phone regulator.

In my area, which is Labour heartland, they’re sadly the worst offenders when it comes to being pushy, rude, and just downright sneaky!

Last time I got a call like this, I asked them to erase my info from their 'database'. But they called me again using a different number; today I missed the call but looked it up and found out it was Labour. They’re pretty sneaky to use other numbers so you can’t even block them!

The labour party is just trying to rally folks behind their not so democratic candidate Mary Creage. I was almost swayed not to back them because of it.

Keep getting calls from this number, but I have no idea who she is, so I just ignore it.

Labour party are really pushy! I won't be backing or voting for them on principle. Haven't had a single call from the other parties, looks like they're just getting desperate.

I received a call from this number earlier today, but as my phone is equipped with BT Guardian, which is set to block such calls, they couldn't get through to me. My device flashed a green light silently to signal that an unwanted caller tried to reach me. Absolutely fantastic piece of tech!

I got a call from someone saying they were with the Welsh Assembly and wanted to know my voting intentions. I asked the woman for her name and then just hung up. Felt really dodgy and like they were trying to trick me.

Had a missed call on my phone yesterday evening. Wasn't sure who it could be from in Newcastle. Since I've been involved in the party for a couple of years, I suppose it kinda adds up now.

LEGIT CALL - the person rang from the LABOUR PARTY

On a Monday evening, I received a call on a landline from a rather amiable lady who inquired, “Is that ...[my name] ...?” She identified herself as being with “the local Labour Party.” She then offered to assist me with any issues I might want to bring up regarding local concerns. Curious about how she got hold of my number, I asked her about it, and she reassured me that “We assist local residents, no matter their political stance.” I informed her that I had no issues to discuss, and she graciously thanked me before ending the call. While the conversation appeared to be quite legitimate and was nothing to be overly concerned about, there are a few points worth mentioning: A) The landline I was contacted on isn’t mine at all. I’m not listed anywhere, and I’ve never had a phone of my own. B) The person who does own the number has kept it for many years and has consistently registered it with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) from its inception. C) Interestingly, the number from which “the local Labour Party” called appears to be a landline based in Tyneside, while the number that rang me is situated around 250 miles away. To sum it all up, the call could well have been a benign inquiry, but the particulars used (my name alongside someone else’s number) raise concerns that these details were potentially obtained unlawfully-presumably at a cost to the Labour Party.

Curious about how she got in touch with this number, I probed further, to which she replied, “We assist local residents, irrespective of their political leanings.” I informed her that I didn’t have any matters to bring up at that moment. She thanked me graciously, and we concluded the call. I can’t help but feel the call was completely above board. There was absolutely nothing underhanded or evasive about her approach. However, I can’t shake the fact that this call should never have occurred in the first place. A) The number that was called isn’t mine. I’m not listed anywhere, nor have I ever possessed a phone myself. B) The individual who owns this number has had it for an extensive period and has been registered with the Telephone Preference Service since its inception. C) Decades ago, the previous owner was actually a Conservative Member of Parliament. D) The number the call originated from seems to be a landline in Tyneside, while I’m situated a good 250 miles away from there. Interestingly, I’ve noticed a number strikingly similar to the one that called, associated with Labour Women, labourwomen.org.uk. I can only speculate that they may share the same switchboard. So, while the nature of the call appeared to be perfectly legitimate, it’s evident that the data utilised - my name linked with someone else's number - was gathered and used unlawfully.
