Just got a call from 01909561745 asking me to verify the expiry date on my card. I went ahead and confirmed it. Then the person told me my sort code once I verified the bank. Things felt off when they asked for my account number next. I said my husband handles that stuff and mentioned he’s in hospital - which is true. Now I’m a bit anxious I shared too much and unsure if that was a scam or not.

Beware, this one’s a bit dodgy. They pretend to be from the Telephone Preference Service to seem legit, but it’s really a trick to get your bank or card info under the guise of ‘confirming’ your TPS registration. Don’t fall for it!

A guy with an Indian accent called me claiming he’s from some call blocking company. He asked if I was still being bothered by spam calls. I told him yeah, then just told him to get lost and ended the call.

Some guy named Eric from India rang up asking for me by name. When I said speaking, he claimed from tomorrow I wouldn’t get any more annoying calls. I replied, well actually I can block them straight away, then hit the button on my call blocker. Honestly, these scammers are the worst and I wish some clever techie would release a nasty virus to finally shut them down for good.

This bloke with an accent said he was from some call blocking company I supposedly signed up with before (which I never did), but honestly, I couldn’t make out most of what he was saying. I just played along, pretending to get it, until I found myself giggling uncontrollably and had to end the call. It's quite refreshing to actually find a scam call a bit funny for once!

Got two calls in the last five minutes and I ignored both. After looking at other posts, I’m pretty sure it’s just the usual annoying type of call. It’s really irritating, and honestly, could be risky for folks who don’t know better!

Got two calls back to back today but didn’t pick up either. The voicemail from 1571 said there was a message, but it was just silence for about 10 seconds. It’s ridiculous how these dodgy people expect us to believe they’re from the TPS when they’re doing exactly what the TPS tries to stop. Absolute cheek!

Around 2.55pm I got a call from an Asian bloke who said his name was "Martin" - yeah, sure! He asked my missus if I’d updated the TPS list and if my credit card ended with the digits ###. She had no clue, said it was my card! Later, at about 6.30pm, an Asian lady called claiming to be "Anna" from the Telephone Preference Service. I said, “Hang on a sec, since you called earlier I googled 01909561745 and it shows you’re a scammer.” Wouldn’t you guess it, she just hung up straight away. Classic!

some woman rang me claiming to be from the tps, saying they were sorting out their records. but what’s weird is she phoned me on my work number, not my home phone, so i’m wondering how she managed to get that info. the place sounded like a busy call centre, and she kept calling me “ma’am” which felt odd. she asked me to confirm my name and address, stuff she already seemed to know, and then mentioned that i was paying for the service by direct debit. that’s when i just ended the call.

This number rang me on my landline earlier, claiming to be from the telephone preference service. I could hear loads of background noise, like a busy call centre. The person on the other end knew my name and address already, then started asking for my credit card’s expiry date. I told them I wouldn’t provide any details unless they gave me the debit card number first. That seemed to annoy them, and they got quite rude before they just hung up. When I tried to ring back, a recorded message said the number wasn’t recognised at all.

They said there was a block on my debit card and asked if I had the card handy. I didn't hold back and used some harsh language, then the bloke hung up straight away. Got a call from 01909 561 745 claiming to be TPS. Like others, I denied giving my credit card expiry date and said I didn’t know anything about their service. The lady on the phone started getting quite aggressive, telling me I was the only person in the UK unaware of TPS. When I asked to speak with someone higher up, she insisted she was the supervisor. I told her that being so rude wasn’t how a genuine call should go and ended the call.

Today I got a call from 01909561745, just thought I’d update my last comment. The person on the line claimed to be from the Telephone Preference Service, asking if I was still getting annoying spam calls. Trouble is, that’s not a real TPO number. I checked their website and it mentioned lots of fake TPS calls going around. I ended the call pretty quick before they went into any more detail, but I reckon this number is linked to scammers pretending to be legit.

Got a call that showed up as coming from abroad, but it wasn’t actually an international number. The person just hung up straight away without saying a word. Happened on 24/08/17.
